My Celebrity Life

Beauty Sets, Kits & Bundles That Will Save You Money

My bathroom cabinet is packed with products, my makeup drawer won’t shut and my TikTok feed is full of exciting new tips and tricks to try. The problem is that my bank balance doesn’t quite match my shopping habits. What’s a beauty lover to do?

The answer is simple: kits and sets. Bundles of products, often in miniature form and often the brand’s bestsellers, packaged up together. A smorgasbord of beauty goodness, if you will – perfect for trying out new products and brands without fully committing, especially when one girl’s cult formula is ill-suited to another. Kits and sets are kinder financially and they make great presents, plus there’s no end to the choice out there, with specialist kits for specific skin, hair and body concerns.

From one beauty addict to another, here are my top beauty sets, kits and bundles that will save you money (and that all-important bathroom space), whether you’re treating yourself or buying for someone special.

Cult Beauty The Skindie Edit, £35

The hype about Cult Beauty’s Skindie Edit, £35, is well deserved. All about celebrating indie skincare, it includes a seven-piece routine from exciting, emerging brands like Gallinée, Keys Soulcare, Heritage Store, Sweet Chef, Laneige, Ultra Violette and Youth To The People. In total it’s worth over £95 but you can buy it for just £35 – a saving of over 60%! It’s the perfect opportunity to try out brands used by your fave beauty influencers for a fraction of the cost.

So Eco Ultimate Brush & Sponge Set, £30

Honestly, beauty tools can be really expensive – especially good quality makeup brushes, the kind that are soft on the face and apply product beautifully. We love So Eco’s Ultimate Set, £30, not only because it includes everything you need for a full beat but also because the brushes are made with sustainable bamboo handles, 100% cruelty-free synthetic bristles and recycled aluminium ferrules (the metal caps keeping the bristles in place). Ideal for someone starting to build up their beauty kit or make their makeup routine cruelty-free. Bookmark now for your vegan BFF’s birthday.

SBTRCT The Discovery Set

SBTRCT The Discovery Set (travel/minis), £15

Another reason why we love beauty bundles is how easy they make transforming our routines. SBTRCT’s Discovery Set, £15, is a prime example, the perfect introduction to solid skincare and cutting down plastic use. Including mini versions of the Gentle Foaming Cleanser and Moisturising Facial Balm, the set is small and compact – about matchbox-size – making it ideal for beauty on-the-go (I’ll be taking mine on my staycations this summer). Miniature though they might be, there’s no need to worry about running out; used daily, the brand promises the products will last two to four weeks.

Furtuna Skin Rituale Luminoso Transformation Travel Set

Furtuna Skin Rituale Luminoso Transformation Travel Set, £192

Okay, I know what you’re thinking. £192 for a set of miniature products is definitely more than a little steep but given all the hype around this brand, we had to include it – its growing list of celeb fans includes Kourtney Kardashian, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Anine Bing. Hailey Bieber’s makeup artist has called the Due Alberi Biphase Moisturising Oil a “mini facial” in a bottle, especially when used with a gua sha. This is definitely one for skincare obsessives, as an extra special birthday or self-treat. Think of it as a chance to try out a celebrity-loved brand that you would never normally go for.

Beauty Bay The Blemish Prone Set, £22

Skincare worries can be banished thanks to this skincare set from Beauty Bay. Designed to target acne and treat pigmentation, irritated and oily skin, it takes the stress out of building a routine – especially since you know the products are going to work well together. Added bonus: each of these products is vegan and cruelty-free.

Potion Paris The Discovery Set, £24.99

In a post-pandemic world, when many of us are still staying close to home, working remotely and shopping online, how do you find a new perfume? Plenty of cool, indie fragrance brands just aren’t stocked in our local Boots or Superdrug. Potion Paris has thought about this, creating a set geared towards introducing new customers to its Collection No. 1. The Discovery Set, £24.99, includes miniature vials of seven luxury eaux de parfum which are both cruelty-free and toxin-free; sumptuous scents with names like Addiction, Creation, Deception, Devotion, Seduction, Sensation and Temptation. My personal favourite is Temptation, a feminine mix of rose, peony, jasmine, sandalwood and musk that isn’t too sweet. Potion Paris has also partnered with One Tree Planted, promising to plant a tree for every box or collection set sold.

Wild Science Bright & Protect Trio

Wild Science Bright & Protect Trio, £84

This set from Wild Science is designed to target fine lines, wrinkles and uneven patches and transform dull, dehydrated skin into glowing, plump skin with an even tone, texture and balanced complexion. It includes three of the brand’s bestsellers – Power Smoothie, £35, Juice Boost, £38, and Bright Start SPF, £39 – which, when bought separately, would cost you £28 more than this set. Wild Science’s products have a lot going for them. They’re vegan, cruelty-free (Leaping Bunny approved), paraben- and silicone-free, and use only natural fragrances.

Physicians Formula Essential Minis Set

Physicians Formula Essential Minis Set, £36.95

I don’t know about you but when I’m packing my makeup for a holiday, I’m always having to use multiple bags, just to fit in all my lotions, potions, brushes and pots. Physicians Formula’s Essential Minis Set, £36.95, does away with all that, packing together miniature versions of everything you need to create a flawless face: an oil-free serum, colour-correcting primer, highlighting powder, liquid lipstick and mascara.

Facetheory The Ultimate Set, £144.99

Sure, on the face of it, £144.99 is a lot for a skincare set. But when you realise that this set includes 10 products – bestsellers suitable for most skin types – then you realise it’s worth it (that’s only £11.49 for each piece). Facetheory is a proudly vegan and cruelty-free brand, its products free from parabens, silicones and mineral oils and made in the UK.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Perfect Your Brows Kit, £25

Anastasia Beverly Hills is a celebrity and influencer go-to for perfectly groomed brows. Now, with this set you can play with your look. Used together, the Brow Wiz and Mini Dip Brow Gel create a bold, fluffy brow which frames the face perfectly. Alternatively, use each product alone to create a more natural look, ideal for summer.

Based in Hastings, The Afro Hair & Skin Co. is dedicated to creating organic and natural beauty that makes you feel great on the inside as well as on the outside. The brand focuses on the unique needs of afro textured hair in all forms and creates skincare to address some of the concerns that come with having melanin-rich skin. Each product is handcrafted, using the most natural and purest ingredients possible – this means that many are sourced locally, and if they come from further afield, they are certified organic and Fairtrade. The Minis Discovery Set, £32, is a great introduction to the brand, including five treatments for hair and body and packaged in an eco-purse made by a women’s cooperative in Uganda using sustainable banana fibres.
