There are few things more annoying than styling your hair only to realise it’s full of pesky static and no matter what you do, it’s not going to sit well.
It occurs when your hair builds up an electric charge, meaning it has gained some extra electrons thanks to friction or a change in humidity.
It means the strands repel eachother, making it frizzy.
But a new TikTok trend shows that there is a simple way to remove it, without adding extra product, which can weigh your hair down.
People have been rubbing dryer sheets to get rid of the charge.
The sheets are usually used in the tumble dryer to tackle wrinkles and static in clothes, so it makes sense.
American Savannah Conroy was one of the first to post the idea, showing how she brushes her hair over the front, gathers it together like she would with a ponytail and then rubs the sheet down it.
Her video has had over 2.5 million views and others have followed.
In response, Jessica Martorell, from Argentina, tried it out and was amazed to see her hair go from a little frizzy to silky smooth in seconds.
Her response video has been watched an amazing 20.8 million times.
Although the videos were posted a few months ago, people are still trying the hack out.
Those who watched Jessica and Savannah’s videos were impressed with the tip.
One commented: ‘I know what I am buying at the weekend.’
Another added: ‘Is anyone else amazed at the things they learn on TikTok?’
