GARNIER GOES GREEN
Ethical beauty fans, unite! Skin and haircare titan Garnier have released an inspiring new sustainability initiative, confirming their place as one of the most environmentally-conscious mass cosmetics brands in the world. The five-year Green Beauty plan will see no virgin plastic packaging and all industrial production sites using renewable energy for power by 2025. As well as this, Garnier is looking to take accountability with social impact labelling, scoring products in terms of how sustainable they are, from sourcing to transportation.
MIRACLE MOISTURISER, INCOMING
A miracle moisturiser that delivers on priming the skin? We’re listening. Glossier just added a fresh moisturiser balance specifically for oily skin to their roster. It promises to tackle oily skin while keeping it hydrated, and it’s non-comedogenic too (so it won’t block pores or encourage break-outs).
BLACK AESTHETICS ADVISORY BOARD UNVEILED
Brilliant news for the beauty world this week: the Black Aesthetics Advisory Board (BAAB) has been unveiled in an effort to ensure a more diverse and representative approach to the industry. The board is made up of a team of award-winning medical professionals, from founder of Black Skin Directory Dija Ayodele, to Amiee Vyas, the founder and director Doctor Amiee Facial Aesthetics & Skin. The board has big plans on providing guidance to brands and change the industry for the better, and we’re here for it.
SPECTRUM GOES CUCKOO FOR KAHLO
Spectrum never fail when it comes to delivering quality cosmetics and their killer collabs are always a talking point. This week saw the release of their range inspired by Frida Kahlo, a legendary Mexican painter, feminist and all-round pop culture figure. Along with a line of covetable brushes, the range is completed with a sponge set and woven makeup bag, emblazoned with Kahlo’s signature monobrow.
