In another example of just because we can do something doesn’t mean we should, Billie Eilish has been immortalised in a fresh wax work.
Well, the people are saying it’s Billie Eilish.
Look, kudos to the artists who put this together, it’s a monumental task that shouldn’t be sneezed at (not in this raging pandemic, anyway) and for all our sass we couldn’t build something vaguely resembling a human, let alone a specific one.
But, that’s not stopped the mighty Internet from dusting off their razz jackets to have a pop at the Hollywood Wax Museum’s latest resident, after photos of Billie’s work landed on social media.
While Hollywood Wax Museum is yet to officially share images of the pop star – who recently smashed her headline set at Glastonbury on Friday night – and we’re just going on what punters have shared online, between the Twitter response and images from fans taken from the museum, Billie does seem to be a bona fide addition to the hallowed and star-studded halls.
The figure, which was reportedly unveiled on the weekend, sported 20-year-old Billie’s famous Happier Than Ever-era peroxide blonde hair, as well as her telltale dead-panned glare.
She (it?) wore a white ensemble in a riff on her 2020 Oscars outfit, as well as gloves that spelled BIL in one hand and LIE on the other, evidently in an effort to let punters know who they were looking at.
Forget the waxwork, though, the reception from sassy punters online is what is tickling our funny bone today, with Selling Sunset’s Chrishell Stause joining in on the WTF-ery of it all.
Reposting the images to her feed, the realtor and reality star wrote: ‘Ummmmmmmmm 😳 I’m gonna need them to unplug the wax making machine for 15secs and plug it back in and start over😅’
Fans responded to her post, with one musing: ‘Honestly I just want to know what their inspiration pictures were,’ while some compared the figure both to Courtney Love, as well as Nick Kroll’s very memeable character PubLIZity.’
Others felt the work was giving more ’80s hair band member’ vibes, and one asked: ‘Have they never seen these people before???’
‘How on earth did they finish this wax figure and thought “yeah this looks like billie eilish😁”‘ one not-very-amused punter wrote. ‘THERE IS LIKE ZERO RESEMBLANCE.’
But, hey, without this waxwork we wouldn’t have the lol times, so we, for one, embrace our new overlord, Wax Billie Eilish.
