Laura has shed light on the kind of DMs she gets and it’s not pretty
A Place In The Sun host Laura Hamilton has opened up on the sort of unwanted DMs she receives from fans, with the star bombarded by some rather risque and X-rated images from admirers.
While the presenter receives messages from eager investors keen on some expert insight into the property market, as well as punters wanting to know the brand of lipstick she was wearing on a particular episode, Laura has revealed she also has a few direct messages from those showing a little too much – and one with a peculiar use for a face mask.
She explained: ‘I did get a message not that long ago from somebody that was a picture of them with a face mask over their private parts.
‘And then the string of the facemask up their bottom, and I was like: “I don’t need to see this.” I just blocked it straight away.’
According to the host, the DM-slider in question captioned their photo: ‘I can’t wait to get out of lockdown.’
Well, mate, neither can we but that doesn’t mean we’re sending wildly inappropriate images to strangers.

She added to The Sun, clearly still managing to laugh off the moment: ‘It did make me laugh, I was like: “That’s not the way we use face masks. But thanks very much”.’
Laura – who has shared her own difficulties in wearing masks the correct way – clearly has a loyal fan following due to her role on the Channel 4 series, and was recently forced to insist she wasn’t going anywhere amid reports she was quitting the show.
The star, who has taken us to sunnier shores on the programme since 2012, addressed claims she was set to front her own programme, saying ‘there is no rumour’ in reference to the report, stating: ‘I didn’t even say I was looking to leave’.
‘In fact I had a conversation with my boss because it really upset me and I never ever said I was looking to leave. Why would I?’ she told Entertainment Daily.
Describing the speculation as ‘terrible’, she explained that just because she showed interest in taking part in ‘other TV projects’ and ‘other travel things’ didn’t mean she was looking to bid farewell to A Place In The Sun.
‘It’s just terrible how people twist things that are said. It’s not fair. People do need to be careful about the things they write,’ she added.
Laura also warned that it ‘could have actually been very detrimental to my career and I think that’s really unfair’.
