Ainsley Harriott treated fans to a pretty epic throwback photo of himself this week, and it’s safe to say they can’t get over it.
The chef, 64, took to Instagram to share a black and white photo of himself with pal Paul Boross from several years ago, in which he can be seen rocking a moustache and white turtle neck jumper under a patterned jacket.
He told his followers: ‘Why hello moustache. A promo shot with my Calypso Twin and good mate @paulboross – good times. Have a good evening, all xx #calypsotwins #timeflies #oldpics.’
Ainsley and Paul met in school and formed The Calypso Twins, releasing the hit song World Party in the early 1990s.
The pair reunited in 2019 after almost 30 years to release Kitchen Calypso, the title music to Ainsley’s Caribbean Kitchen.
Fans were obsessed with Ainsley smouldering in the throwback photo, commenting: ‘he’s so handsome!!’ and ‘Where do we complain about Ainsley being too sexy?’
Others added: ‘what a stud!’, ‘check ains out’ and ‘You haven’t changed a bit ! Eyes speak [100%] mischievous laughter and zest for life.’
Some compared him to other music icons, commenting: ‘I thought u was luther vandross’, ‘Very Hall & Oates!’ and ‘Hall and Oats is that you??’
While some people were unaware that Ainsley and Paul were certified pop icons back in the day, The Calypso Twins actually had a very successful musical career.
Together, Ainsley and Paul headlined everywhere from the London Palladium to the Comedy Store, even performing at the NY Improv and Jongleurs.
The Calypso Twins also appeared on TV shows including The Generation Game with Bruce Forsyth and headlined roadshows with MTV and BBC Radio One in the 90s.
