Alex Reid welcomes baby girl with fiancee Nikki Manashe after tough IVF journey

Alex Reid and his fiancée Nikki Manashe are parents to a baby girl after a heartbreaking journey with IVF.

Nikki announced the happy news on Instagram on Tuesday sharing a picture of their baby’s tiny hand clutching at her finger.

She did not reveal her daughter’s name or show her face but opened up to her followers about becoming a mum.

In the picture caption Nikki wrote a poem to her new baby, which read: ‘Welcome to the world little Miss Reid ?

‘I loved you from the very start, you stole my breath, embraced my heart. Our life together has just begun, You’re part of me my little one.

‘As mother with child, each day I grew, my mind has always been with thoughts of you. As you lay next to me I dim the light, I whisper, “I will always say I love you” every night.

‘I loved you from the very start, you stole my breath, embraced my heart.

‘As mother and child our journey has just begun, my heart’s yours forever my perfect little one.’

The couple have had a tough journey to get to this point having suffered a series of miscarriages in the past.

In 2019 the cage fighter was left devastated after Nikki sadly lost her fifth unborn child, who they had named Phoenix.

‘No words can describe the pain that couples go through who lose a child,’ he said.

‘My amazing partner @ivf_chasing_dreams has been through so much from painful treatments to operations time and time again.

‘Women who go through IVF I salute your bravery, men who stand by their sides I respect you.

‘We will have our happily ever after. But for now it’s time to rest and heal a broken heart.’

The couple, who have been engaged since 2014, were heartbroken yet again in December last year as Nikki suffered another miscarriage and lost one of their twins.

Alex said at the time: ‘Baby Reid due July 16th. We will never forget the other baby. Who will now be a guardian angel for his/her twin.’

Nikki added: ‘I hadn’t planned to have twins—who does?—but once I was pregnant with two babies I wanted both of them. I was already planning moving to my new big house in the country side, watching two babies grow up together, digesting the happy news that I will never need to go through IVF again as I now have my perfect family and then just like that – One strong beautiful heart beat not two ?

‘Emotions – heart broken and happy all at the same time? Grief and excitement. No words ?.’
