Amanda Holden has suffered a very unfortunate injury, revealing the awkward story behind it.
The Heart Breakfast radio presenter spilled the beans on her Thursday morning show, admitting she was ‘in so much pain’.
Amanda, 50, admitted to co-host Jamie Theakston – and the nation as a whole – that she had injured herself at home and was left with bruises on her elbow and bum.
The presenter explained that she and her husband Chris Hughes have a hot tub in their garden, and while her husband tends to walk from the house to the tub in his dressing gown, she takes a rather different approach.
‘I’ll just run down there naked and I’ll run back in,’ she said, admitting she ‘likes being naked’ and her dressing gown is too ‘squidgy’ to wear comfortably when wet.
Amanda revealed that, ‘over the weekend I was running across the patio and I did not see there was black ice’.
‘And I slipped right on my bum! And elbow!
‘I’ve got a lovely bruise right on the fleshy part of my bum,’ she said, as Jamie laughed.
Despite her embarrassing fall, Amanda still climbed into the hot tub and enjoyed the warmth – but is now suffering from pains and aches, with another bruise on her elbow.
Amanda was previously rushed to hospital after breaking her leg in two places while playing with her daughters on holiday in Europe, and says it was this injured leg that she slipped on over the weekend.
She joked: ‘I’m getting to be a proper old person, I’m telling you all my ailments!’
The Britain’s Got Talent judge is married to music producer Chris, 67, and the pair share two daughters, Alexa, 15 and nine-year-old Hollie.
She recently voiced her joy after fellow Britain’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell announced his engagement to long-term partner Lauren Silverman.
After going public with their romance in 2013, Simon, 62, – who shares seven-year-old son Eric with Lauren, 44 – has finally put a ring on it, with pal Amanda saying she was ‘as shocked as Lauren’ at the news.
Speaking on Wednesday’s Heart Breakfast show, Amanda said: ‘Simon said he would never get married, and obviously Lauren has been by his side and you now they’ve been through so much together, and I think she’s the one, but I don’t know if she ever thought he would put a ring on it!
‘Whilst Simon never thought he was the marrying type, he’s realised he’s met the woman of his dreams – and couldn’t be happier. In the words of Beyoncé, it was time to put a ring on it.’
