Amber Heard brushed off the petition calling for her removal from Aquaman 2 as she went horse riding with friends.

The 32-year-old seemed in good spirits as she rode her horse Arrow through Griffith Park in Los Angeles.

Heard was joined by her girlfriend Bianca Butti for the jaunt, with the actress dressed in a black t-shirt, jeans and riding boots.

The star has a love of horses, and her ex-husband Johnny Depp is believed to have bought her a horse back in 2012.

In a recent Instagram post, she called horse-riding her ‘happy place’, and has multiple pictures on social media in the stables or out riding horses with her family and friends.

Heard’s outing comes as a petition calling for her to be dropped from the Aquaman sequel reached 1.5 million signatures.

The star played Mera in the 2018 superhero film opposite Jason Momoa, with the movie sequel expected to begin filming next year.

Heard confirmed earlier this month she would be returning for the sequel, saying: ‘I’m super excited about the amount of fan love and the amount of fan appreciation that Aquaman has acquired and that it has garnered so much excitement for Aquaman and Mera that it means we’ll be coming back. I’m so excited to film that.’

The petition, titled ‘Remove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2, was started by Jeanne Larson and is addressed to Courtney Simmons, the senior vice president of publicity and communications at DC Warner Bros.

Larsen alleges that Amber is a ‘known and proven abuser’, and claims that she has ‘systematically crusaded to ruin Depp in Hollywood, repeating multiple accounts of fake incidents in which she had actually abused Johnny Depp, but lied and created false accounts of him being the abuser’.

It reads: ‘As Amber Heard is a known and proven domestic abuser, Warner Brothers and DC Entertainment should and must remove Heard from their Aquaman 2 film project. They must not ignore the suffering of Heard’s victims, and must not glamorise a domestic abuser.

‘Men are victims of domestic abuse, just like women. This must be recognised, and action must be taken to prevent a known abuser from being celebrated within the entertainment industry.

‘Do the right thing. Remove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2.’

Depp, who was married to Heard between 2015 and 2017, alleged during his libel trial against The Sun that the actress was abusive towards him, and claimed that she threw a glass bottle at him during a row, causing his finger to be severed.

Heard alleged that Depp was violent towards her during their marriage, and testified in the libel trial to support The Sun’s case.

A judge ruled in favour of The Sun, saying they were accurate in calling Depp a ‘wife beater’ in an article headline.

In the wake of his trial loss, Depp resigned from his role as Gellert Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts franchise, after being asked to by Warner Bros.

The 57-year-old has since been replaced by Mads Mikkelsen.
