Amy Schumer hailed ‘brave’ for showing off C-section scar: ‘Feeling it looks cute today’

Amy Schumer has been praised for showing off her C-section scar on social media and inspiring other mothers to embrace theirs.

The Trainwreck actress gave birth to son Gene in May 2019, her first child with husband Chris Fischer, via C-section.

In an Instagram photo, Amy is seen standing in her bathroom naked while taking a mirror selfie. The comedian, who covers her cleavage with one hand, leaves the scar on the bottom of her torso visible.

‘Feeling like my c section looks cute today!’ she wrote before joking: ‘#hotgirlwinter #csection.’

Amy’s followers hailed the actress a hero for being so open, with one commenting: ‘Amy you are amazing!!!! So brave! I hate my scar ugh.’

Another praised: ‘Beautiful body!?? I need to love my c-section more. ?♥️.’

One said: ‘Whatever transported Genie on this planet is to be relished. Ps – body ??.’

‘Love you for posting this!’ one said while another stated: ‘That scar represents power, life and healing. You’re beautiful ?.’

Clearly sharing Amy’s sense of humour, one quipped: ‘That c section thirst trap on point.’

Amy, 39, has previously detailed the difficulties she faced during labour and said on the Informed Pregnancy and Parenting podcast: ‘I was throwing up through the first hour of my C-section. It’s supposed to take about an hour and a half—mine took over three hours because of my endometriosis and that was really scary.

‘It was kind of brutal but Chris was so great—we just stared in each other’s eyes and he just held me there. Then they let me hold Gene for a good amount of time. I got to see him and hold him.’

As Gene celebrated his first birthday last May, Amy revealed she was undergoing IVF to conceive her second child.

However a few months later, the comedian revealed she had quit IVF and ‘decided [she] can’t be pregnant ever again’.

Amy and Chris did consider using a surrogate to carry their second child but have decided to put their plans on hold for now.
