Amy Willerton claims influencers are ‘lying’ about being in the UK while they’re actually in Dubai

Amy Willerton has blasted influencers who have travelled to Dubai while pretending they are still in the UK on social media.

The model, 28, who is also currently in Dubai, claimed she had seen many social media stars out and about while they were pretending to their followers that they were in lockdown in the UK amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Amy, who has been in Dubai with her daughter Demelza since last year, was asked about her thoughts on influencers flying to Dubai in December and January for ‘work’.

Answering the fan, she said on her Instagram story: ‘OK, I have a lot to say about this… some of it which I probably shouldn’t say.

‘But I’m a big believer in owning your truth so I’m going to talk… So I’m here in Dubai, I see a lot of people, who on social media, are pretending they’re at home.

‘They put up the Netflix, they say “I’m at home, I’m in it with you” and they’re not… they’re here. Remember, smoke and mirrors OK? Social media is not real. It’s a glimpse, it’s not that person’s life.

‘I guess I do feel sorry in some ways for the influencers that came over here and actually just owned the fact they were here and are receiving death threats for it…

‘I think that is really quite sad when there are a lot of people getting praise when they are completely lying to you all. I’m not naming any names, I’m not like that, but I’m just saying… it’s not real.’

The former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here star continued: ‘Because people have suffered so much in this, I get why they are angry. I get why people are so, so upset.

‘I know when I’ve had fears about things that are out of my control like death for instance, just putting it out there.

‘The only comfort I find is we’re all in it together, we all have to die at some point. That is my way of comforting with that I guess, it’s kind of the same thing in this.

‘Because it is so, so awful, the only comfort, I think everyone has found in all this is the community that’s formed from the suffering. From getting through each day locked down.

‘Obviously we went through it in the first lockdown and we’ve been so lucky we’re not going through that now.

‘I’m not going to pretend to know what everyone’s going though right now, I don’t, I don’t, I have no idea how you’re all still doing it. You’re all heroes, I would have 100% rebelled by now.’

Despite being one of the ones who has flown out to Dubai, Amy also told her followers: ‘So for now, I’m going to own the fact I’m here.

‘I’m going to own the fact I’m extremely lucky and I’m going to try and enjoy each day. Because I’ve got the opportunity to do so which is frigging amazing.’

Many reality stars and influencers have angered fans by attempting to use a loophole to have lavish holidays by claiming they must travel for work, which has led to several fans vowing to unfollow those who do not follow the lockdown rules which are in place to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
