Andre 3000 is notoriously one of the most private rappers around but he has kindly divulged his treasured family Apple Pie recipe for the Christmas holidays.
The OutKast rapper has teamed up with Meals On Wheels Atlanta in his hometown as part of their #PassItDown campaign to unite the community at a time when they might be without family during the coronavirus pandemic.
In the caption, Andre – real name Andre Benjamin – wrote: ‘The holidays are different this year because we can’t hang with our friends & families like we would normally. But for many of our elders, they may be lonely or food insecure now and much of the year.
‘I am happy to be part of the #PassItDown campaign with @mealsonwheelsatlanta because they are doing really amazing things. My offering is my family recipe and helping to give love and support to an elder in need.’
Now down to the juicy part… Andre sweetly listed the recipe in a handwritten note with photos of some of the ingredients. Titled ‘Quick Lil’ Apple Pie’, the sweet treat is ready in just eight speedy steps.
All you’ll need is a can of biscuits, butter, a pinch of salt (optional) and apple sauce.
Andre’s fans were loving the wholesome recipe with one commenting: ‘Andre 3000 put a apple pie recipe on Instagram y’all that man is so pure and I love him.’
‘Im making that Andre 3000 apple pie fasho,’ one admitted.
Another reacted: ‘Andre 3000 sharing his family apple pie recipe, complete with the cutest doodles, is the wholesome content I needed today.’

Loving the rapper’s rare social media post, another quipped: ‘Andre 3000 posted on IG today and it was to share his family Apple Pie recipe. The most Andre-ist thing to do Lol.’
However, others just couldn’t get past the fact the pie doesn’t include any real apples.
‘Excuse me he forgot the apples. If I bite into an apple pie and get apple sauce and not apple chunks I’m fightingggg,’ one fan said.
Another joked: ‘That’s a hood pie if I’ve ever seen one,’ while one follower wondered: ‘What kind of apple pie doesn’t use real apples??’
Regardless, Andre’s charitable efforts will no doubt go a long way.
