Angelina Jolie astonished as the cover star of Vogue, dressed in a stunning golden gown and drenched in ethereal matching light.
Atelier Jolie is the Hollywood powerhouse actress and director’s endeavour to bring her internationally minded, socially concerned beliefs to the world of fashion through numerous collaborations.
Jolie, 48, was shot for the article wearing a variety of eye-catching styles from her collection.
She went for gold in a stunning lower-impact silk slip dress and velvet cloak by Chloé x Atelier Jolie, photographed by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz.
The mum-of-six and former UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador and Special Envoy explained that Atelier Jolie has been ‘therapeutic’ for her family life and the collaborative creative community.
‘I feel a bit depressed these days,’ the actress acknowledged, admitting that she is’still grasping’ who she is at nearly 50.
‘I don’t feel like I’ve been myself for a decade, in a way, which I don’t want to get into.’
According to Vogue, Jolie mentioned that she started doing less film work seven years ago, ‘only taking jobs that didn’t require long shoots’.
‘We had a lot of healing to do,’ she said, adding that ‘we’re still finding our footing’.
Jolie filed for divorce from fellow Hollywood star Brad Pitt seven years ago, in 2016.
The pair, who met on the set of the 2005 film Mr And Mrs Smith, married in 2014 with their six children present.
Three of their children are biological and three are adopted, and Angelina was joined for the session by son Pax, 19, and daughter Zahara, 18, both of whom wore Atelier Jolie designs that they helped develop, using antique and deadstock fabrics.
She is also the mother to Maddox, 22, Shiloh, 17, and Knox and Vivienne, 15-year-old twins.
Jolie also described what it was like to become a mother at the age of 26 when she adopted Maddox in 2002, adding that her “entire life changed.”
‘Having children saved me — and taught me to be in this world differently.’
‘I think, recently, I would’ve gone under in a much darker way had I not wanted to live for them,’ she admitted.
The Oscar-winner also said she hoped she was a ‘safe place’ for her kids, and provided ‘stability’.
‘But I’m also the one that they laugh at — and I see them taking over so many different aspects of our family.’
The digital cover story will appear as a feature in Vogue’s November 2023 issue.
