Angelina Jolie’s father Jon Voight has thrown his support behind Donald Trump by sharing a video bizarrely branding Joe Biden ‘satan’ and and his election victory ‘a lie’.
Joe Biden has been named America’s new president, after beating Trump in the election, earlier this month, and winning over 270 electoral college votes needed to win the presidential race.
Trump, who won the last presidential election in 2016, is now refusing to concede and has tried to file lawsuits in some states, including Michigan and Georgia amid his claims of voter fraud.
It’s been reported that Trump is now planning to run for president again in 2024 after claiming that this election has been ‘stolen’ from him.
Hollywood actor Voight, 81, famed for starring in movies such as Midnight Cowboy and Anaconda, seems to agree with Trump and is now calling for fans to ‘fight for Trump’s victory’.
He shared an anti-Biden video to Twitter where he is seen branding the new president ‘Satan’ and claims the election’s ballot count is ‘corrupted’.
Voight says: ‘My fellow Americans, I stand here with all that feel as I do, disgusted with this lie that Biden has been chosen. As if we all don’t know the truth. And when one tries to deceive, we know that one can’t get away with it, there will be a price to pay.’
‘The ones that are jumping for joy now are jumping towards the horror they will be in for. Because I know that the promises being made from the left to the American people will never come to be,’ he continued.
‘My friends, of all colours, races, and religions, this is now our greatest fight since the civil war. The battle of righteousness versus Satan. Yes, Satan. Because these leftists are evil, corrupt and they want to tear down this nation.’
Voight called on his fans to fight for Trump, as he said: ‘We must not allow this, we must fight this corruption that has taken over and fight for the good that seems lost. Let us give our trust to god and fight now for Trump’s victory because we all know this ballot count is corruption like they are.
‘So let us not back down, let us fight this fight as if it is our last fight on earth. As Muhammad Ali said, “it’s not over until the last punch you have,” god bless.’
Voight captioned his video: ‘We all know the truth.’ His post comes with a warning from Twitter that read: ‘This claim about election fraud is disputed.’
His video seemed to divide fans, with those in support of Trump praising Voight for speaking out, while others were left concerned for the movie talent.
Some responded by reporting the star’s video to Twitter, claiming it is ‘inciting violence’.
‘Much respect to you for having the courage to defy Hollywood norms and speak out for what’s right,’ wrote one fan in support of Voight’s post.
Another supporter said: ‘God bless you, sir! It’s not over! We know the truth.’
‘Ah Jesus @Twitter@jack please remove this immediately and ban this nutcase. This is seriously dangerous,’ one user posted in response, while another agreed: ‘Dear @Twitter I’d like to report a man for inciting violence.’
Voight had backed Trump during the election and posted a video in October where he called Biden ‘evil’ and insisted Trump is ‘real’.
He is currently staring as Mickey Donovan in Showtime series Ray Donovan.
Voight is dad to actress Angelina, 35, and son James Haven, 47, who is also an actor and producer.
