Archie Lyndhurst’s girlfriend Nethra Tilakumara has shared a heartfelt tribute to the late actor to mark what would have been their second anniversary of dating.
The CBBC star, son of Only Fools and Horses actor Nicholas Lyndhurst, died in his sleep last September at the age of 19 due to natural causes.
He was in a relationship with his former So Awkward co-star at the time of his death and they would have celebrated two years together this week.
Alongside sweet photos of them hugging on a night out and being silly together, Nethra described Archie as her ‘best friend’ and said her life ‘completely changed and all for the better’ after his death.
‘Archie, when I met you my life completely changed and all for the better. You’re a once in a lifetime kind of boy… and I can’t believe my luck, that I found you. I really can’t,’ the actress wrote.
She continued: ‘I only wished for so many more years and all I can say, is that when you know, you know- and I did. Thank you for making me laugh from the day we met, thank god I found a boy who could put up with my snoring. :’)
‘Everything was always an adventure, everything was always fun with you, being with you was being at home. Looking at you in a room filled with people, was just seeing home. You were my home. Thank you for unconditionally loving me and thank you for making me a better person.
‘I will never meet such a beautiful, gentle, incredibly kind, erudite, thoughtful and insanely talented young man again.. oh and also very funny 😉 and I’m not the first or last person to say this.’
Nethra said she would ‘cherish’ April 12 for the rest of her life and concluded: ‘Happy 2 years beautiful boy, I love you. I’m so glad I found you and I’ll find you again one day… X.’
She had previously paid tribute in October, just two weeks after his death, to mark what would have been his 20th birthday.
Archie died on September 22 and it was later determined that it was from a brain hemorrhage caused by a rare form of cancer.
Confirming his cause of death, Archie’s mum Lucy said in an Instagram post at the time: ‘Dearest friends, it’s so difficult to know where to start. There is no easy way in any of this. On the 22nd September our world blew apart, the damage caused to it totally irreparable.
‘Archie was, and always will remain our everything. Those of you who know us know the catastrophic effect it has had, and will have on us for the rest of our days.’
