Ashley Cain broke down in tears as he shared an update on his baby daughter’s battle with leukaemia and revealed she now needs a bone marrow transplant.

The reality star, who found fame on MTV’s Ex On The Beach, welcomed daughter Azaylia , weighing 7lbs 10oz, with girlfriend Safiyaa Vorajee in August.

Ashley revealed last month that Azaylia has been diagnosed with a ‘rare and an aggressive’ form of cancer known as AML (acute myeloid leukaemia) and is currently undergoing treatment.

He had explained that Azaylia was due to start her third round of chemotherapy and in a new update shared on Wednesday, Ashley was seen in tears as he revealed she now needs a bone marrow transplant.

Ashley told fans his heart has ‘broken again’, as he explained that due to his daughter’s ethnicity – she is Caribbean, Burmese, Indian and English – it will be ‘extremely difficult’ for doctors to find her a match.

He shared a statement that read: ‘So the doctors told us today that no matter how well Azaylia’s chemotherapy and recovery goes she will need a bone marrow transplant. Her case is very rare and aggressive and made even rarer by her age. As well as that, because of her ethnic mix (Caribbean/Burmese/Indian/English) its extremely difficult to find a match for her bone marrow.

The bone marrow transplant it is a very long and gruelling process of intense chemotherapy, stem cell treatments, transfusions etc and there are many high risk complications. I can’t lie it’s a crushing blow as she’s in the high risk category and this process is incredibly enduring on her little body. But as always we’re keeping things positive and as long as she’s got a fighting chance… WE WILL FIGHT! ???❤️ #LetsGoChamp

The star also shared a video of him speaking from hospital, where he was seen breaking down in tears as he discussed his daughter’s condition.

‘I was having a great morning with my little one, then the doctors came in and said no matter how well she’s doing with the chemotherapy, she’s on the high risk list, so she’s 100 percent going to need a bone marrow transplant,’ Ashley said.

As he explained the difficulties that poses, Ashley told fans: ‘It’s a very long, intense, gruelling procedure and that’s if she manages to fight it and withstand it. It’s sad it feels like I’m back to the start.’

Choking up, Ashley said: ‘It’s broke my heart man, it’s broke my heart again. It’s difficult, so difficult… as long as she’s got a chance, we’re gonna fight. This little warrior, she can do it.

‘Please keep us in your thoughts, please keep us in your prayers, please keep sending the positive energy because we’re feeding off it and we’re using it to fight every single day.’

Ashley is now speaking with charities to set up a campaign for Azaylia, where people can sign up as a donor in order to aid the matching process.

Just a few weeks after Azaylia’s birth, Ashley said that becoming a father has been the ‘most precious and humbling’ feeling.

‘Having my baby daughter has been the most precious and humbling feeling imaginable,’ he told followers.

‘‘A form a responsibility that I can never turn my back on, a priority which I value so much higher than my own and a form of love I didn’t ever think possible! ?. Thank you baby Azaylia, Daddy loves you! ❤️.’
