BIGBANG star Taeyang expecting first child with wife Min Hyo Rin

BIGBANG star Taeyang is set to become a father, as wife Min Hyo Rin has confirmed she is pregnant.

Following reports from Hanbook Ilbo that Min Hyo Rin is pregnant, the actress’s agency confirmed that the couple are expecting their first child.

A statement read: ‘It is true that Min Hyo Rin is expecting. She is waiting joyfully.

‘As she hopes to give birth quietly, we ask for your understanding in not being able to respond to further questions.’

This is the first child for both stars, who have been together for seven years.

Taeyang, 33, met Min Hyo Rin, 35, in 2014 on the set of his video for 1AM, and they began dating shortly afterwards.

The pair then got married in 2018 at a church in Gyeonggi, Seoul, with friends including former BIGBANG bandmates Daesung and Seungri, former 2NE1 members CL and Sandara Park, and singers Psy and SE7EN witnessing the ceremony.

Their lavish reception was held at the Paradise City resort hotel in Incheon, South Korea, with Min Hyo-Rin wearing a custom-made dress from Oscar De La Renta.

A month after their wedding, Taeyang – real name Dong Young-bae – began his mandatory military service, and was discharged in November 2019.

Taeyang shot to fame in 2006 as one of the members of K-pop band BIGBANG, one of Korea’s biggest selling boybands.

Two years later, he pursued a solo career, and released his first solo album, Solar, in 2010.

His last single, Wake Me Up, was released in 2017.

Meanwhile, Min Hyo-Rin is best known for her roles in he TV show Triple, The Happy Loner and Romance Town and the films Sunny and The Grand Heist.

She is also a popular reality star, appearing on the KBS show Sister’s Slam Dunk.
