Keith Duffy was brought to the hospital and is scheduled for surgery after becoming unwell in Dubai.
The Boyzone singer, 49, posted a selfie of himself laying in bed with his knee bandaged and medical personnel surrounding him, thanking them for getting him ‘back on his feet’ and ensuring the treatment could be postponed till he returned home.
Keith wrote on Instagram: ‘A huge thank you to all the doctors and nurses at Dubai’s Mediclinic who helped get me back on my feet for tomorrow’s big show in Dubai.
‘Surgery on hold till I get home but a little patchwork, some pain management, and the show must go on.’
The artist, who hasn’t revealed the full extent of his health concern, is slated to play tonight alongside former Westlife member Brian McFadden at the Duty Free Tennis Stadium in Al Garhoud, UAE, as part of their Boyzlife supergroup.
The pair is part of an epic roster that also includes fellow 1990s boyband legends Five and Blue.
Boyzone had to perform without Keith on the No Matter What hitmaker’s 25th anniversary tour in 2019.
He became unwell and had to spend the night in a Thai hospital, forcing him to miss their act, and he rejoined the group in Australia.
‘Keith was taken unwell before the show here in Bangkok this evening and has been admitted to hospital on the advise of the local medical team,’ the band announced at the time.
‘Our brother will get back on his feet as soon as possible, and we appreciate all of your tremendous support in the meanwhile,’ said the family.
Keith was present earlier this year to support Boyzone bandmate Ronan Keating following the untimely and devastating loss of his brother Ciarán Keating.
Keating, who was in his 50s, died in a vehicle accident in July while driving to a tournament where his son was participating.
Keith was among the first to express his sorrow and post a memorial note on Instagram after Ronan’s funeral at St Patrick’s Church in Louisburgh, Co Mayo.
Ronan sang This Is Your Song near the end of the emotional event, which he composed for his mother, who died of cancer in 1998; the Marie Keating Foundation was established in her memory.
Keith was among the mourners at the burial, showing his support for his old Boyzone bandmate.
