Brit Awards viewers cringe as Mo Gilligan and Maya Jama down shots while ‘confused’ Olivia Rodrigo watches on

Brit Awards viewers could feel the awkwardness through their TV screens as host Mo Gilligan downed a shot with Maya Jama, leaving Olivia Rodrigo ‘confused.’

Fans felt sorry for the 18-year-old who won big tonight, taking home a gong for her smash hit Good 4 U.

Comedian Mo – who took over from Jack Whitehall as this year’s presenter – was in high spirits as he and Maya enjoyed a cheeky shot, because is it even the Brits without celebs getting smashed?

However, teen sensation Olivia was left to watch on after being interviewed by Mo.

Fans took to Twitter to say how ‘pure’ she looked, just smiling away as the hosts celebrated in style.

Many wondered why they didn’t offer her a drink also, at the makeshift bar Maya set up to keep the party flowing all night long.

‘Where was Olivia’s shot at,’ asked one viewer, since she’s allowed to drink in the UK, whereas the legal age in the US is 21.

‘Why have they pulled Olivia up for an interview to ask her three questions and then ignore her and do shots,’ another laughed.

Another tweeted: ‘Olivia is so pure just sitting and smiling whilst they do shots. I’d be asking to join in.’

Well, we’re sure Olivia will be having a fab night, nonetheless!

Not only did she bag a trophy for best international song at her second ever Brits, but she admitted to feeling ‘inspired’ to be in a room full of ‘creative geniuses’.

The Drivers License singer – who said she turns 19 in a couple of weeks – was also looking forward to watching Adele deliver a performance.

Adele took to the stage tonight, along with Dave, Ed Sheeran and a whole host of other stars for the biggest night in British music.
