Britney Spears’ boyfriend Sam Asghari has thanked fans after their incredible tribute to the singer at a Pride parade over the weekend.
It’s been an emotional time for Britney, 39, after she made a court appearance last week to plead with a judge to end her strict conservatorship after 13 years.
Fans and celebrities alike were heartbroken to hear the pop star detail how her life is controlled by the order, including her being unable to get pregnant or married and not being able to see friends nearby leaving her depressed and ‘crying everyday’.
Footage emerged over the weekend of a Pride parade in France showing thousands of fans marching through the streets and uniting to sing Britney’s hit single Oops… I Did It Again. Photos from the LGBT+ event showed people hanging ‘Free Britney’ banners out of apartment windows.
Britney’s boyfriend Sam was moved by the sweet gesture and shared a video clip of the singalong with the caption: ‘So cool. Happy Pride.’
Among other reactions, one fan commented on Twitter: ‘I wish Britney could see this and feel the love.’
One wrote: ‘OMG! So impressive,’ while another agreed: ‘Well I’m emotional!’
Britney and Sam, 27, are currently enjoying a romantic getaway in Hawaii after jetting out hours after her court hearing on Wednesday.
A source told E! News: ‘Britney looked very happy and excited to be going back to Hawaii. She was giddy and all smiles as she landed on the island.’
They added that Britney and Sam had decided to spend their time by the pool in their hotel rather than the beach so they could avoid the crowds.
‘They thought about heading down to the beach, but it looked very crowded so they stayed at the pool,’ the source added. ‘Britney looked like she was in her happy place in a pink bikini at the pool getting some sun.’
Sam also shared videos of the couple clowning around with funny filters on their way to the island on their private jet.
It comes after Britney told the court that she was unable to have a baby with Sam due to having an IUD implanted in her body against her will. In addition to starting a family with the professional dancer and model, the Toxic singer also wants to get married.
The couple have been dating since 2016 after meeting on the set of her Slumber Party music video where Sam was a backing dancer.
