Britney Spears calls out sister Jamie Lynn amid conservatorship battle: ‘My so-called support system hurt me deeply’

Britney Spears has publicly criticised her sister Jamie Lynn Spears for the first time in a social media post about her ongoing conservatorship battle.

The Slave 4 U singer is in the process of a legal battle to terminate her conservatorship permanently after 13 years of having her wellbeing and financial affairs managed by her father, Jamie Spears, and a bank.

In her latest social media post, Britney hit back at those criticising the videos she regularly shares of her dancing at home while refusing to return to the stage as long as her dad remains in charge of the court order.

‘For those of you who choose to criticize my dancing videos … look I’m not gonna be performing on any stages anytime soon with my dad handling what I wear, say, do, or think ???‍♀️ ?!!!!’ she began the post.

Britney, 39, then mentioned her younger sister directly and continued: ‘And no I’m not gonna put on heavy makeup and try try try on stage again and not be able to do the real deal with remixes of my songs for years and begging to put my new music in my show for MY fans … so I quit !!!!

‘I don’t like that my sister showed up at an awards show and performed MY SONGS to remixes !!!!! My so-called support system hurt me deeply !!!!’

It’s not clear which specific performances Britney was referring to but Jamie Lynn did perform a tribute to the singer at the Radio Disney Music Awards in 2017. Britney attended the awards show and was seen cheering with her mum Lynn Spears as Jamie appeared on stage.

In her heartbreaking Instagram post, the pop star went on: ‘This conservatorship killed my dreams … so all I have is hope and hope is the only thing in this world that is very hard to kill … yet people still try !!!!

‘I didn’t like the way the documentaries bring up humiliating moments from the past … I’m way past all that and have been for a long time !!!! And for women who say it’s weird the way I still have hope for fairy tales … go f**k yourself ?? !!!!! As I said … hope is all I have right now … you’re lucky I post anything at all … if you don’t like what you see, unfollow me !!!’

She continued: ‘People try to kill hope because hope is one of the most vulnerable and fragile things there is !!!! I’m gonna go read a mother f*****g fairy tale now !!!! Psss if you don’t want to see my precious ass dancing in my living room or it’s not up to your standards … go read a f*****g book ? !!!!!’

It comes hours after Britney slammed those who didn’t ‘show up’ when she needed them most, leading many to speculate it was aimed at her younger sibling.

Jamie Lynn has been attacked by fans for not speaking out sooner over the treatment of her sister, with the Zoey 101 actress hitting back at the abuse she had received.

She later posted an emotional Instagram story in support of her sibling, vowing that she didn’t feel she could speak publicly until Britney did.
