Britney Spears appears to be attempting to shake off the recent turmoil by posting a video of herself dancing on social media.
The singer, 41, was reportedly struck by NBA player Victor Wembanyama’s bodyguard last week while partying in Las Vegas with husband Sam Asghari, 29.
Britney subsequently described the event as ’embarrassing’ and ‘traumatic,’ explaining how she patted the basketball player on the shoulder to congratulate him on his accomplishment before being ‘backhanded’ in the face by a member of his security detail.
However, she appears to be moving on from what happened, releasing a video of herself laughing and dancing to Janet Jackson’s 2004 song All Nite (Don’t Stop).
Britney was dressed in a strapless white long-sleeved shirt that showed her midriff as she danced, as well as green bikini bottoms and white knee-high stiletto boots.
Britney, clearly in a happy mood, indicated in the description of the image that she’s ready to share some big news.
‘Great news coming tomorrow … I’m so so excited … can’t wait to share this news with you all !!!!,’ she wrote.
While Britney has lately been recognised for releasing dancing videos on social media, she revealed shortly after her post that in high school she had a fondness for a completely other sport.
Sharing a video of a young boy playing basketball, Britney wrote: ‘Funny people see me dancing a lot…in school I didn’t dance or cheerlead…I was a point guard.’
‘I called all the plays and I was fast as hell cause I was like a mouse…I couldn’t shoot as well as I handled the ball!!! The rush of the game THE UNKNOWN … no set ups … the tricks … the FAKES … the ball … baby can f***ing play !!!,’ she added.
Her remarks came after she attempted to connect with basketball player Victor, after which she stated that the event was the first time she’d ever seen a security officer ‘ever hit another person’ in her life.
However, she added that ‘either way’ she was ‘still a huge fan’ of the NBA player and it was ‘not his fault his security hit me…s*** happens’.
According to the Las Vegas Police Department’s investigation, Britney was the one who smacked herself in the face after the security officer shielding the French 19-year-old moved her hand away from him.
