Brooke Shields has given fans an update on her recovery as she learns to walk again after breaking her right femur in January.
The 55-year-old actress injured herself during an accident at a New York City gym and has since been in hospital for treatment.
Sharing a series of snaps on Instagram, the Suddenly Susan could be seen sporting a heavily bandaged arm and leg.
One selfie saw the screen star sporting a number of chest monitors, while another image showed her hooked up to machines as she sat with a walker.
The mother-of-two wrote: ‘I’ve come a long way since this, but the journey is just beginning.’
Fellow actress Debi Mazar commented: ‘You’re so strong! I’m sorry you had to go through all that pain!’
The actress previously revealed she is having to learn to walk on crutches after she broke her femur.
She sustained a life-changing injury when she fell off a balance board and flew into the air, landing on her upper leg and breaking the largest bone in the body.
A fractured femur or thighbone is usually treated with surgery and intensive therapy and it can take months for the bone to heal.
Brooke, who shares daughters Rowan, 17, and Grier, 14, with husband Chris Henchy, is typically quite active and loves sharing her workout routines online.
