Brooklyn Beckham, everyone’s favourite blowtorcher for cheese toasties, has returned to the kitchen.
This time, he made hamburgers. and they are being compared to McDonald’s (not in a good way).
The 25-year-old has received a lot of criticism online in recent years for his culinary, erm, skills.
The son of David and Victoria Beckham is a never-ending meme, whether he’s making pasta inside a whole cheese wheel or drowning his chicken in avocado oil, and his latest dish is causing a stir for all the wrong reasons.
In a sponsorship with Chosen Foods, the aspiring chef took to social media to show off his latest creation: a homemade burger and fries.
‘Today I’m making a Flying Dutchman,’ he began in the video.
Brooklyn explained: ‘You first start off with grounding your meat, then we cut up some potatoes.
‘Next up is the onion. Two similar sizes so it can be replaced by the bun.’
The former photographer filled a saucepan with ‘pure avocado oil’, fried his potato chips, and seasoned them before draining them.
Then it came time to plate his burgers.
As he did so, viewers noticed that he was cheating with processed cheese slices in addition to using ‘the wrong type of potato’.
Nonetheless, he was proud of his creation, and despite the inevitable backlash from the internet, Brooklyn shared the ‘tutorial’ with his 16.4 million followers.
People were still extremely harsh in their comments, though.
Instagram user rhona4804 wrote: ‘He could get a job at McDonald’s’.
marycee13 commented: ‘No not the processed cheese slices’.
‘Not the right kind of potato to make fries’, blasted milliciously_me.
Dragging Posh Spice into their criticism, abazilindita wrote: ‘Victoria would throw that in the rubbish right away’.
Surprisingly, there was also some positive feedback for ar Brooklyn.
Fans defended him against the barrage of hate, hailing his burger as ‘delicious’ and urging trolls to leave him alone.
He was also supported by his number one cheerleader, dad David, who reposted the clip to his Story with the text: ‘My boy just loves to cook. Just like his dad’.
VB also joked: ‘He gets it from me!’
Brooklyn’s latest dish follows his unconcerned response to online criticism.
In a recent interview with Insider, Brooklyn declared that he ‘works [his] bum off’.
He said: ‘To be honest, I’m used to the hate. It doesn’t really bother me. Cooking makes me happy.
‘I have more important things to worry about than people saying a little bit of rubbish about me… I’m doing my thing and working my bum off.’
The nepo baby added: ‘To be honest, I’m used to the hate. It doesn’t really bother me. Cooking makes me happy. I have more important things to worry about than people saying a little bit of rubbish about me.’
When asked what he wishes to say to the haters, Brooklyn replied defiantly: ‘My message to them is to keep writing whatever they want to write. There are always going to be people out there who try and pull you down.
‘I’m doing my thing and working my bum off. So they can keep writing what they want, but it’s not going to bother me — I’m just going to keep doing my thing.’
