Cardi B casually splurges $240k on rare Birkin bag after ‘paying triple’ – possibly costing more than your house

If there’s anything you’ve learned this week, it should be to never come between Cardi B and her undying love for Birkin bags.

The WAP rapper has added to her glorious collection of the designer Hermes bags, a new and rare holdall from the brand – but had to pay triple for the privilege to the tune of $240,000 (£174,000).

Cardi B, 28, proudly unveiled her pretty new splurge in an Instagram video, showing off the rare Birkin Cargo which retails for $79,995 (£57,800) and is sold out in many places.

Detailing her efforts in getting her hands on the coveted luxury piece, the rapper explained: ‘You know I wanted this f***ing Birkin so bag. Y’all don’t understand I called every f***ing Hermes store and it just came out this year.

‘Was looking for it, f***ing finally found it, had to pay triple but I just love it. I know it’s a little plain for y’all right but I just thought it was so amazing. She’s so pretty, I can’t wait to f***ing wear it.’

It’s official, Cardi B puts the B in Birkin.

The Up rapper is known for her love of the designer brand but has been criticised over the years for her expensive splurges.

Cardi’s husband Offset also came under fire last summer after buying an £8,000 (£6,300) pink Birkin for their daughter Kulture’s second birthday.

‘Late is better then never I Birkin my baby,’ he captioned a video of Kulture opening the present.

After followers slammed the Migos rapper for buying the toddler such a lavish gift, Cardi stepped in to defend her man.

She said in an Instagram video: ‘Celebrities buy their kids jewelry and designer s**t, people be like, “Kids don’t care about that. They only care about toys and candy.”

‘Yeah, they only care about toys and candy but the thing is the kids also go outside. You know what I’m saying? Kids go to restaurants, kids go to fancy places, celebrity kids, they go do red carpets.’

The Bodak Yellow hitmaker continued: ‘And if I’m fly and Daddy’s fly, then so is the kid. If I’m wearing Cha-nay-nay, my kid’s having the same same, you know what I’m saying? It’s not up to what the kids like.

‘If it was the kids, they’d be outside in diapers. Because if I was looking like a bad b**ch, expensive b**ch and I have my kid looking like a bum bum, then y’all would be talking s**t.’

Last September, Cardi stepped out with Kulture sporting matching pink Birkins.
