Tiger King star Carole Baskin revealed that she is bisexual and was ‘probably born into the wrong body.’
The eliminated Dancing With The Stars contestant, 59, had said she ‘could just as easily have a wife as a husband.’
She told PinkNews she first felt close to the LGBTQ+ community in the 1980s when she was engaged to a psychologist.
It was at this time she realised ‘I had just as equal feelings for women as I did for men.’
‘I have always considered myself to be bisexual,’ she said. ‘Even though I’ve never had a wife, I could just as easily have a wife as a husband.
‘As far as the way I feel about us, I think we are all one and I just don’t see us as being different genders or different colours or anything.’
The CEO of Big Cat Rescue has been married to her husband Howard since 2004 and was previously married to millionaire businessman Don Lewis between 1991 and 2002.
He disappeared in 1997 – and was legally declared dead in 2002 – and was a widely discussed topic in Tiger King.
Carole has constantly denied being involved in his disappearance or death, despite Joe Exotic and Don’s family claiming she was behind it.
However, the accusations have negatively affected the star, with her admitting how much it hurt.
In a rare chat about the after-effects of the Netflix documentary, Carole was left looking emotional as she said on Dancing With The Stars: ‘I keep it inside [my feelings].’
‘That is the absolute worst of this,’ she added in a second clip.
But Carole is still being followed by the accusations, with Don’s family launching an ad campaign during the show last month pleading for information to find the missing businessman.
