Cheryl returns to social media with glowing selfie after 5-month break: ‘It’s been a minute’

Cheryl has delighted fans by returning to Instagram after taking a break from social media since January.

The 38-year-old singer shared a photo of herself looking glamorous with her long brown hair cascading underneath her black hoodie as she posed against a wall.

She added the caption: ‘It’s been a minute…hope you’re all good ☺️.’

The star was inundated with comments from excited fans, some of whom were hoping the post indicated a return to music. One wrote: ‘Pls tell me this is promo for something coming soon?’

‘I’d be better if you released a single,’ another added.

‘Longest minute in history… When’s new music coming?’ one fan enquired.

Some fans also asked Cheryl to return to Twitter, where she hasn’t posted since August 2021.

The last post Cheryl shared on Instagram was about her latest collaboration with vitamins brand We Are Feel.

‘New Year…New You 💫✨ there is never a better month to commit to being healthier than January! I always find it’s the best time to start a new daily habit, this month why not make yours taking @wearefeel …clean and effective vitamins to help give you that extra energy and glow, something we could all do with!’

She didn’t explain why she has been absent from Instagram, or reveal what her latest photo is for, although we can only hope an announcement for something is imminent.

Earlier this year, the star spoke about how becoming a mother to her son Bear – her four-year-old son with former One Direction star Liam Payne, 28 – has completely changed her outlook on life.

‘My approach to life and the world changed when I became a mother to Bear,’ she told Women’s Health UK. ‘I have a completely different perspective now that I’m responsible for another human. I care less about silly stuff and more about the important things in life, like Bear’s health and happiness.’

She continued: ‘When you’re a mum, the day floats away, so I don’t get to use it that often. After dropping Bear off at nursery, I do my work calls and housework, and then it’s time to pick him up.’

It comes as Girls Aloud’s Nadine Coyle confirmed that she and Cheryl, Kimberley Walsh, and Nicola Roberts will get back together for one night only in memory of their late bandmate Sarah Harding, who died in September last year at the age of 39 after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

The event will raise funds for crucial medical equipment that could diagnose cancer sooner.

‘We are planning an industry fundraiser for her in her memory to raise as much money as we possibly can for Cancer Research,’ Kimberley elaborated while appearing on BBC’s Morning Live to co-host Gethin Jones.

When Gethin told Kimberley that this was an event that Sarah was ‘keen’ for the band to do, she replied: ‘She did. She asked us to do this, so it’s really important for us that we make it a big event, but it’s all about that.’
