Chris Hemsworth may play a superhero on screen, but the Thor actor has demonstrated that he is also something extraordinary in real life.
Fans were taken aback by the Australian actor’s attempt to hold his breath underwater, which he completed in a record-breaking 200 minutes.
However, the 39-year-old celebrity encountered his fair share of distractions along the road, as his young children attempted to distract him by swimming around him in order for him to lose focus.
Chris – who lives in India Rose, 10, Sasha, 8, and Tristan, 8, with wife Elsa Pataky – slapped his youngest out of the way before reverting to his praying hands posture.
The Hollywood favourite kept his cool while sitting cross-legged at the bottom of the pool, flaunting his wonderfully honed physique and defined abs.
Sharing a video to Instagram, Chris made light of his kids’ cheeky antics, captioning his post: ‘Don’t let distractions get in the way of your goals… no matter how hard they try to swim in front of you😂’

He added that he’s completed ‘200 minutes so far’, suggesting he has aspirations of holding his breath for even longer underwater.
Chris received a load of praise from his 56.1million followers, and even Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson himself was in awe.
‘My one ab never looks this chiseled under water. 😂👊🏾’, The Rock commented. ‘Looking great brotha’.
One fan joked: ‘Thor is becoming Aquaman now’, while another suggested a possible new film title: ‘Thor – The Way of Water’.
Seriously impressed, one follower commented: ‘This is absolutely brilliant!!!’
Others hailed him an ‘inspiration’ while many were left in stitches by his ‘adorable’ son’s behaviour.
Chris, on the other hand, does not appear to be putting his underwater stunt skills to use anytime soon, as he just stated that he would be taking a break from his career.
The revelation came when he discovered he was more likely than most to have Alzheimer’s disease in the future.
He found the discovery while working on the National Geographic docuseries Limitless on Disney Plus, which explores time, ageing, and human nature’s ability to overcome both challenges.
He discovered that he possesses two copies of the gene APOE4, which has been linked to an elevated risk of Alzheimer’s, a degenerative disorder that disrupts brain processes and causes memory loss, after taking a test.
The Aussie star said that the results ‘really triggered something in me’, resulting in him wanting to put his career on hold.
