Chris Ramsey has well and truly given the middle finger to 2021 after breaking his ankle just days after his wife Rosie welcomed the pair’s second child.
The 34-year-old comedian revealed the very inconvenient injury over the weekend, which came as Rosie – who hosts the Sh**ged. Married. Annoyed podcast alongside Chris – recovered from surgery, after welcoming Rafe Ramsey on January 6.
Sharing a shot of his rather fetching medical boot, Chris, who will have to wear the boot for six weeks and be on crutches for three, mused his coronavirus pandemic lockdown has been made ‘a million times worse’.
He wrote on Instagram: ‘How to make your lockdown a million times worse…
‘Wife recovering from surgery [tick emoji]
‘Broken ankle tick emoji’
He added: ‘F**k this DECADE. Bring on 2030! #sh***marriedannoyed
‘… toe nail needs a trim too (sic).’
Mates chimed in to wish Chris a speedy recovery, with Laura Whitmore writing: ‘Ah jaysus! Get well soon Chris x.’
Keith Lemon added: ‘Ooops! Did ya fall of ya space hopper ?’
Britain’s Got Talent winner Lost Voice Guy Lee Ridley hilariously kicked in the boot by replying: ‘Only in it for the parking ?.’
Chris – who also has four-year-old son Robin with Rosie – joked he was looking forward to 2030 after a tough decade and honestly with this rather annoying start to 2021 (amid such a beautiful addition to the family, we may add) we can’t blame him.
Rosie, who said in her Stories if she doesn’t laugh at the situation she’ll cry, shared a picture of Chris on crutches, and added the caption: ‘I can’t even look at him.’
It seemed the gnarly incident happened at the park, as Chris shared an insight into the situation from home in the comments.
He wrote: ‘The conversation went:
‘Rosie- “chris, take Robin to the park for a run around”
‘Chris- “I really don’t want to. Do I have to?”
‘Rosie- “yes. Take him out. Get some fresh air. Have a run around”
‘So… you guys be the judge. (sic)’
It comes after Rosie and Chris welcomed baby Rafe earlier this month, with the newborn apparently looking just like his big brother Robin.
Sharing news of the birth, Rosie posted: ‘Hi everyone. This is Rafe Ramsey Born yesterday afternoon weighing 9lbs 1oz.
‘He’s absolutely wonderful and looks EXACTLY like his brother! like, it’s uncanny!
‘He’s yet to meet Robin, so once we’re all settled back at home I’ll introduce him to you properly. Hope you’re all ok xx (sic)’
Following Rafe’s birth, Rosie thanked the NHS staff for looking after her before, during and after the birth.
Dubbing her message an ‘appreciation post’, she wrote: ‘I wanted to take a moment to share my appreciation and gratitude for all the staff at the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) Newcastle.
‘Truth be told I was rather nervous about having a baby during a global pandemic. Not something I ever thought would happen if I’m totally honest! But I needn’t be. The staff were impeccable.
‘From the surgeons who delivered my baby, to the anaesthetist who calmed me every step of the way, to the midwifes who made sure I was healing ok, to the nursery nurses who helped me and supported me in my breastfeeding mission and to the gorgeous ladies who took my blood pressure and brought me coffee and toast with a beaming smile.
‘I never once felt scared or alone. Yes, Chris had to leave a couple of hours after Rafe was born, which was extremely difficult I’m not gonna lie. But the ladies on the maternity ward reassured me that they were there and they couldn’t have been more caring and helpful.
‘I can honestly say the only thing that made me remember there was a pandemic was that they were wearing masks! Other than that I completely forgot!
‘So, if you are due to go into hospital soon to have your baby, rest assured the staff will look after you. They are currently under immense pressure and I am so grateful that they managed to make me feel completely at ease. Thank you. Love Rosie and Rafe xx (sic)’
