Off Menu host Ed Gamble has got married to his girlfriend of 11 years Charlie Jamison after their wedding was postponed three times due to the pandemic.
The comedian tied the knot with TV development producer Charlie at Hesdor House in Buckinghamshire, in front of comedian friends including James Acaster and Nish Kumar.
Charlie, 28, shared a picture confirming their big day, in which she wore a gorgeous ballgown with a Bardot neckline by the designer Angelina Colarusso.
In the picture, she looked up at her new husband while holding her bouquet, while Ed, who was dressed in a blue suit and a lilac tie, smiled down at her.
Charlie simply captioned the pic: ‘9/9/21’ with a ring emoji.
Joel Dommett’s wife commented: ‘So frikkin beautiful guys!!! Love to you both’, while designer Coco Fennell wrote: ‘Yey gorgeous! Congratulations.’
Ed, 35, had confirmed on his and James’s food podcast Off Menu that they were set to get married on Thursday, saying he thought their Jamie Oliver episode would be going out the day before their wedding.
The couple have been together for 11 years, having been set up on a date after meeting through mutual friends back in 2010.
Ed proposed to Charlie while on holiday in Japan in October 2018, having decided he was going to propose in January.
The comic commissioned a bespoke ring design from one of Charlie’s friends, who is a jeweller.
However, he originally didn’t want to get married, as he explained on the podcast You’ll Do: ‘I always talked about not wanting to get married, but I talked about not being for the institution of marriage. I am still not for the institution of marriage, I am for my marriage and my marriage alone.’
Unfortunately, after planning to get married in 2020, their wedding was postponed on three separate occasions due to the pandemic.
Their last attempt was at a register office in January, with Ed tweeting: ‘I always knew I’d have to cancel 3 weddings, I just never thought they’d all be to the same woman.’
Charlie, who works for the TV production company Potato, excitedly tweeted about their big day as it approached, writing: ‘2 weeks until we get married! The closest we’ve got out of all the attempts thus far! Please please let it happen. Please.’
On You’ll Do, the couple said that they were going to take each other’s surnames as their middle names, rather than Charlie taking Gamble as her surname.
It’s a big week for Ed both personally and professionally, as it was announced earlier this week that he is one of the new judges on Great British Menu.
After appearing on the show as a guest judge earlier this year, the Taskmaster star is now a permanent judge alongside Tom Kerridge and Nisha Katona, who are replacing Matthew Fort, Oliver Peyton and Rachel Khoo.
