Conor McGregor has revealed his beloved dog Hugo, who he’d had since before he was famous, had died.
The MMA star, 33, shared a series of photos of him and his family with Hugo over the years, telling fans: ‘So heart broken to say my dog Hugo has passed away.
‘He was with me all the way, my closest companion. From sleeping on a bed frame without a mattress to everything else that came after.’
Conor had often been seen training with Hugo, with the dog joining him as he went running to get in shape ahead of a fight.
He continued: ‘Thank you for all the work put in alongside me to get this life correct for our family. All the love and cuddles we will miss forever and ever our Hugo! Gutted. RIP the best boy Hugo McGregor.’
Among the photos and videos Conor shared were snaps of him and Hugo snoozing together in bed, the dog with his growing family and fiancée Dee Devlin.
From joining him in the gym to being suited and booted with his closest companion, Conor and Hugo appeared to be inseparable over the years.
The dog was also beloved by his and Dee’s three children, Conor Jr, four, Croia, two, and Rían, five months.
Conor also shared a video clip of Hugo looking regal on an outdoor sofa as Ed Sheeran’s song Runaway played, adding: ‘We got there in the end my boy.’
