Courteney Cox still hasn’t reunited with her boyfriend Johnny McDaid, with the couple now apart for seven months.
The Friends actress hasn’t seen the Snow Patrol rocker since March as he flew back home to the UK a day before California went into lockdown.
Johnny, 44, chose to quarantine with his family but it meant putting over 3,000 miles between him and his longtime partner.
Opening up about their separation, Courteney told Foy Vance on his Vinyl Supper podcast: ‘At first I was like, wow what do I do with myself? I cook every day, I’ve learned to cook so much more, I’ve perfected it…
‘I haven’t seen John in that many days, he left when the country shut down, the day before.’
Courteney, 56, admitted that ‘Sundays are different’ without Johnny and says she does ‘miss a lot of it’. She’s been spending lockdown with her 16-year-old daughter Coco, who she shares with ex-husband David Arquette.
She continued: ‘Although people are starting to go, “OK, people have been quarantining, everyone’s safe”, they like to come to the beach so I’m not that lonely.
‘I have these two friends, they were gonna quarantine with me, which is great because if I can’t be with John, I don’t wanna be just be by myself with Coco, I’m a little chicken.’
Courteney went on to reveal how she met musician Johnny through their mutual friend Ed Sheeran in 2013.
She recalled how Vance’s album The Joy of Nothing became the soundtrack for that era, explaining: ‘I met John through Ed [Sheeran], they were living together in Venice and I used to go over to their place and he’d play it all the time.
‘It’s how I met you, through John, it’s such a feel-good thing.’
Courteney and Johnny got engaged in 2014 but the Cougar Town actress revealed last year that they decided not to get married following a brief split.
In July, Courteney wished her love a happy birthday via Zoom and shared a screenshot with the caption: ‘It’s been 133 days since we were last together. Covid sucks. Happy Birthday J. I loved our lunch/dinner (LA/London time) zoom date today.
‘I miss you madly. ♥️♥️♥️’
Someone get them a plane ticket, pronto.
