Daisy May Cooper has been left baffled after her mum gifted her a metal detector book for Christmas – despite her not owning one.
The This Country writer and actress shared a snap of the intriguing present, a book titled titled Permission Impossible: Metal Detecting Search Permission Made Easy.
‘Got this book from my mum and I dont even own a metal detector?’ she wrote on Instagram. ‘Whats the the most mental gift you got today b*****ds?’
It turns out she wasn’t the only one getting slightly bizarre festive gifts, with one follower responding: ‘A full face snorkel.’
‘Packet of beef hula hoops ?,’ another said, adding: ‘I don’t even like the beef ones ?❤️’.
One more said: ‘I got some loo rolls. I do own a toilet though ?’.
Daisy, 34, has been bringing the Christmas cheer on social media, performing an expletive-filled Christmas song, before giving her best impression of people who refuse to eat turkey on Christmas Day.
She went on to perform an iconic Christmas dance to Santa Claus is Coming to Town, captioning it: ‘When I manage to find a dildo online for under a tenner for the works secret santa.’
Safe to say Daisy’s having an interesting festive period.

As the actor praised her ‘fantastic’ performance in The Personal History of David Copperfield , she flung herself back in her chair in shock.
That wasn’t the end of it however, as he added: ‘I haven’t seen your show but now I’m aware of it, I will definitely see it.’
However, Daisy wasn’t fully convinced, confessing to Graham afterwards: ‘He didn’t really know who I was!’
‘He Googled you,’ Graham reassured her, and surely that’s got to be just as good.
You never know – maybe he’s into metal detecting and a firm friendship is about to be formed.
