Dancing on Ice star Myleene Klass got some help from her three children — and a lion stuffy — as she demonstrated life-saving first aid techniques in a TikTok video.
In the video, titled What To Do If Your Baby is Choking, the 42-year-old singer and her two daughters, Ava and Hero, who she shares with ex-husband Graham Quinn, explained what to do to help a child who is choking.
Apollo, Myleene’s 16-month-old son with fiancee Simon Motson, also features briefly at the beginning, though he seems to have proven too rambunctious to have stayed for the whole video.
Myleene explains: ‘When my daughter was the same age as my son is now, she choked on a plastic star. This is the procedure that I used.’
Hero, holding a lion stuffed toy, goes onto explain that babies won’t be able to cry or cough if they can’t breathe properly.
Older sister Ava then demonstrates the step-by-step procedure using the lion as a ‘patient’.
While there is some great advice in the video, of course, Myleene isn’t a doctor and there’s only so much detail a celeb and her adorable family can go into in 46 seconds.
What to do when a baby is choking can vary depending on the child’s age, and it’s important to make sure you’re assessing the situation properly, so we recommend consulting this NHS guide before taking any action.
This isn’t the first time Myleene has drawn medical attention recently.
The radio presenter is set to take part in the upcoming series of ITV’s Dancing on Ice, but revealed earlier this month that she’d torn a calf muscle in practice.
She announced the injury on Instagram, sharing a picture to her stories of series partner Lukasz Rozycki reaching out towards her.
‘Uh oh,’ Myleene wrote. ‘And the reality, torn calf muscle.
‘Honestly, the respect I have for ice dancers is through the roof.’
Myleene isn’t giving up, and still plans to compete in the skating competition when it premieres early next year.
