Daniel Mickelson’s girlfriend has shared a sweet video of the actor looking happy and relaxed just days before his death.
The Mani actor died on Sunday at the age of 23. His younger sister Meredith announced the news but a cause of death was not given.
As tributes began to pour in for Mickelson, his girlfriend Maddie Haley shared fond memories from their year-long relationship.
In one video, Mickelson was seen cooking in the kitchen while singing and laughing around as Maddie filmed him.
She revealed: ‘This was just last week I don’t understand how you are gone.’
Another clip showed the aspiring actor sitting on a balcony in a robe while looking at a script. He’s heard saying: ‘Starting a role that I know I’m going to get. Fingers crossed, got to be confident.’
In other Instagram stories, Maddie told her followers: ‘I just texted daniels phone while I was in the bathroom and as soon as I walked out a red cardinal flew right up and landed on the railing then flew away. I know it was him.
‘Daniel I know you are watching over me. I know your spirit is still here. Keep sending me signs baby.’
‘My sweet sweet beautiful smiley boy. Until we meet again,’ she added.
In May, the couple celebrated their first anniversary with Maddie sharing a montage of photos of them together alongside the caption: ‘A whole trip around the sun with my bestfriend :’) happy one year daniel I love you more than I can put in words ? can’t wait for more with you.’
Maddie had earlier expressed her heartbreak over his death and said: ‘I don’t want this to be real. Words can’t even describe how I’m feeling right now. Last night I lost my bestfriend in the whole world. I feel like my hearts been ripped out of my chest.
‘Daniel you were the kindest person I have ever met. You lit up every room with your contagious smile and never failed to make anyone happy. There wasn’t one day that went by where you didn’t go out of your way to make me feel special and loved.’
‘I wish I could tell you how much I love you and I wish I got the chance to say goodbye. I’m not sure how I’m going to get through this but I’m going to be strong for you because I know it’s what you would have wanted. Everything I do now is for you. Now I have a guardian angel by my side for the rest of my life. I am going to make you so proud. I love you forever babe,’ she added.
Tributes poured in for Mickelson with Paris Hilton, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Kaia Gerber and Lottie Moss among those sharing their condolences.
The actor was best known for starring in the YouTube series Mani, while he also had a role in indie horror movie The Killer Clown Meets the Candy Man.
