David Beckham isn’t known for his culinary skills, but the supper he proudly blogged about last night is rather bizarre.
Everyone has heard of gammon, egg, and chips. But have you ever had gammon, baked beans, peas, pineapple, chips, egg, and coleslaw? It’s definitely a mouthful.
We’re not sure how we feel about the bean-pea combo; surely just one would enough.
But, hey, if you’re worth an estimated £425 million, why not get both?
Without giving too much away about the former Manchester United footballer, 48, he stated the recipe was inspired by his mother – so it’s certainly a little of a domestic comfort for the celebrity. We all have them.
The mummy’s boy posted the picture of his grub before tucking in, and tagged Sandra Beckham in the snap, admitting: ‘Not as good as yours mum, but not bad.’
According to GB News, David previously disclosed this was his favourite meal when he blogged about it for the first time last year. Yes, he really enjoys it.
Commenting on his staple meal back then, the footballer wrote: ‘Last night’s feast one of my favourites growing up. Thanks mum.’
The difference between David’s recipe and his mother’s appears to be that Sandra produced mushy peas, whilst David’s were whole. That’s why it’s not as fantastic as it might be, David.
Cheffing definitely runs in the family, with David’s eldest kid Brooklyn filming his own culinary films and being washed more than his dishes as a result.
The 24-year-old has been mocked several times for his internet gourmet endeavours and star chef dreams.
One especially notable instance occurred when he prepared a Sunday roast with a piece of meat that supporters said was served “raw.”
Brooklyn’s ‘Michelin-style’ lunch started with him liberally salting the beef before pouring it in two full blocks of butter combined with garlic, rosemary, and thyme and baking it.
‘Just like how I have it in England. The best Sunday roast!’ he enthused, after trying a bite of the finished product.
‘Might as well bite the cow while it’s grazing,’ commented one fan on the video of the pink beef, while another claimed: ‘A good vet could bring that back to life.’
Katie Price‘s spaghetti lesson was also noteworthy in the realm of celebrity cooking presentations.
Meanwhile, Molly-Mae demonstrated her love to the Sunday roast by ordering a big – wait for it – genuine Deliveroo – carvery. Eek.
Posting your supper on social media is always risky, but perhaps even more so for someone with 86 million followers like Becks…
