Diddy may have cancelled his annual lavish star-studded New Year’s Eve party due to coronavirus but that didn’t stop the hip hop mogul from having a blast to ring in 2021.
The Bad Boy Records founder invited a group of close friends and family to his Miami, Florida mansion on Thursday to celebrate NYE.
However, it was on a much smaller scale than he’s used to with the producer surrounded by his children – Quincy Brown, 29, Justin, 27, King 23, Chance, 13, and 14-year-old twins D’Lila and Jessie – and several other loved ones.
Giving everyone FOMO, Diddy shared highlights from the night in his Instagram stories, including footage of him dancing in his huge garden, toasting in a circle with friends and leading a prayer circle with his children.
Sitting on the steps in the entrance hall of his sprawling mansion, Diddy held hands with his brood and told them: ‘I want you to know how proud I am of my children… every second I think about every one of y’all. I think about your futures, I think about your greatness, I think about how blessed I am.
‘I just love y’all from the bottom of my heart, you’re not gonna find nobody that’s gonna love you more than me. I promise I will win that right there. I love y’all and I just want y’all to be happy, be safe and have fun.’
After the heartwarming moment, Diddy hit the dancefloor again but this time he cut more of a casual look after ditching the blazer so he could show off his moves properly.
Dazzling his guests with his fancy footwork, Diddy then began pouring tequila over his son King’s shoes as the youngster cut shapes in the middle of the circle.
The party appeared to remain outside for much of the night but many were without masks and there was little social distancing.
Miami has so far recorded almost 300,000 cases of coronavirus with more than 4,000 deaths.
Diddy’s NYE bash came just hours after he threw his son Justin a 27th birthday party at Swan restaurant before moving onto Victory restaurant and lounge.
He also threw his beloved mum a birthday party to celebrate her 80th birthday last month, and generously gifted her with $1 million (£721,000) and a new Bentley.
Earlier this week, the 51-year-old businessman announced that his New Year’s Eve party would not be taking place.
He wrote in an Instagram story: ‘To all my friends: In efforts to keep everyone safe & Healthy unfortunately we are not having a NYE party this year!
‘I hope everyone had a blessed holiday and wish you all the best for the new year!’
It’s often regarded as the hottest celebrity NYE party with past guests including the likes of Beyonce, Jay Z and Drake.
