Dwayne Johnson made one elderly fan’s day as he personally sent her two bottles of tequila on her birthday, so she could celebrate turning 101.
The actor, 48, launched his own brand of tequila called Teremana earlier this year and two bottles of the good stuff seemed like the perfect present for Dwayne to send over to one of his biggest fans.
Marie Glover turned 101 this month and received a surprise parcel from the Moana star in the post, including a personalised birthday card.
She seemed absolutely delighted with her tequila-inspired gift and Dwayne shared an adorable snap of Marie posing with her bottles as she marked her birthday.
Offering her some advice, Dwayne (aka The Rock) told Marie that turning 101 is ‘not the time to do shots’ and she should instead sip her tequila for a lil birthday treat.
He wrote: ‘HAPPY BEAUTIFUL 101 BIRTHDAY to Grandma Grover! ??❤️?? Good to see you received my gift of @teremana bottles and the card I wrote you!
‘Remember to SIP the Mana, grandma and it’s not time to do shots ?☺️??
Happiest of birthdays – what an amazing and blessed life ?? Enjoy your mana, Marie! DJ ? #grandmagettinghergrooveback.’
It’s not the first time Dwayne has surprised Marie, as he actually helped her to celebrate her milestone 100th birthday last year.
Carrying on the new tradition, Dwayne got back in touch with her this year ahead of her big day to serenade her with a rendition of happy birthday.
The Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle star, who recently battled coronavirus, posted a sweet clip of him video calling Marie and her pal on her birthday, where Marie was cutely seen fixing her hair as she cries: ‘Oh my god, that’s not my Rock is it?’
Dwayne, who was wearing a face mask, took it off to flash a huge smile for Marie and sing to her, while she blew him kisses.
‘Marie Grover, singing this birthday song to you is such an honour,’ Dwayne said.
‘It is my privilege and pleasure because you are turning 101 today. Happiest of birthdays to you. What an incredible life! I hope you have the best birthday surrounded by love… sending you so much love, what a beautiful 101 years.’
It’s safe to say he’s made one old lady very happy.
It came as Dwayne surpassed 2million followers on Instagram, making him the number one most followed man in the US.
To celebrate, he raised a glass – of tequila of course – and shared some important life lessons with fans, as he thanked them for allowing him to ‘speak his truth’ online.
‘Always speak your truth. Always speak your truth and do your best to speak your truth with compassion, with a little bit of poise, with a little bit of dignity, with respect, and with empathy,’ Dwayne told fans.
‘Even when speaking your truth means you’re going to dive into some conversations that might make people a little uncomfortable, and that’s okay.’
