Hollywood star, WWE Champion, possible President of the United States – Dwayne Johnson can do it all.
Now, The Rock has added another string to his already impressive bow by dropping his first ever rap track and it’s safe to say he’s absolutely slayed it.
Dwayne delivers an epic guest first on TechN9ne’s new track Face Off, which was released today on the hip hop star’s ASIN9NE record, and we’re seriously impressed with the blockbuster heavyweight’s flow.
On the song, he raps: ‘It’s about tribe, it’s about power, we stay hungry, we devour. Put in the work, put in the hours and take what’s ours.
‘Black and Samoan in my veins, my culture bangin’ with Strange, I change the game so what’s my motherf***in’ name?’
‘Desecration, defamation, if you wanna bring it to the masses. Face to face now we escalatin’ when I have to put boots to asses.
‘Mean on ya’ like a dream when I’m rumblin’, you’re gonna scream, “Mama”. So bring drama to the king Brahma, comin’ at ya with extreme mana.’
As if to just rub it in, Dwayne even seemed to reveal he delivered his verse in ‘one take’.
At the end of the track, he references his own tequila brand, and says: ”Take you brother Tech N9ne. Thank you Teremana. One take, that’s a wrap.’
It’s a level of cool we can all aspire to.
The song isn’t technically the first time we’ve heard The Rock rap – who can forget You’re Welcome from Moana? – but this is certainly his first as himself rather than Maui, so we’ll let him off.
Teasing the track on Thursday before it dropped, he tweeted: ‘Pumped (& humbled) to drop MY 1ST RAP SONG with my brothers, the GOAT
@TechN9ne @therealkingiso & #joeycool.
‘Honored to add some Rock gasoline to their FIRE… Im excited for you to hear this song, I think you’re gonna dig it… (sic)’
