Eddie Izzard has revealed her body is aching two thirds of the way through her 31 marathons in 31 days challenge but is soldiering on regardless.
The stand-up comedian, 58, has been sharing her progress on Instagram and gave fans an update on how she is feeling at this stage in her ‘Make Humanity Great Again’ challenge.
She revealed: ‘Day 21, in the bubble of the car, so we go from home bubble to car bubble, to room bubble.
‘I’m knackered, getting on alright. Today’s the 21st marathon. Joe Biden became President so that’s great and Kamala Harris Vice President… well done United States.
‘My feet and legs… you just gotta keep going on, I’m hanging on, but you’ll get there.
‘Today we are celebrating Stockholm and Sweden so I’ll see you out there on the run, take care everyone. Thanks for supporting.’
Eddie’s superhuman feat is to raise money for charities including Fareshare, Walking With the Wounded, Care International, United to Combat Neglected Tropical Diseases and Covenant House New York City.
The comic and activist recently revealed that she has known she is transgender from the age of four and says it was ‘ridiculous’ people were surprised at her using she/her pronouns.
She told The Big Issue magazine: I’ve known I was trans since I was four or five. My feelings from the age of five have not moved an inch. Have not moved a centimetre, a millimetre even.
‘Thirty-five years ago, I came out. The rest is language. I went through such hell since ’85 that the idea that I’ve come out recently just sounds ridiculous.’
Eddie added on Lorraine: ‘I was on the National Portrait Gallery Artist of the Year. And they said, “What would you like to be known as?”
‘So I thought, “Well, I’d quite like to be she because I’m in girl mode, she/her.” But basically, it’s a request, it’s never demanded, it’s never insisted.
‘Some people twist that, and some people get het up about it. It’s as if some of the world is saying, “Are you serious about this? Are you serious about being trans? Because we just didn’t know for 35 years!”‘
