Ellen DeGeneres has revealed she tested positive for Covid-19.
The comedian ensured fans that she was ‘feeling fine’ as she gave a health update on social media on Thursday.
She shared a short statement which read:’ Hi Everyone, I want to let you all know that I tested positive for Covid-19. Fortunately, I’m feeling fine right now.’
The 74-year-old confirmed The Ellen DeGeneres Show would stop production as she added: ‘Anyone who has been in close contact with me has been notified, and I am following all proper CDC guidelines.
‘I’ll see you all again after the holidays. Please stay healthy and safe. Love, Ellen.’
Fans immediately sent their well-wished as one wrote: ‘Feel Better, @TheEllenShow! Like Dory, just keep swimming!’
Another added: ‘Stay safe @TheEllenShow hope you get well soon.’
‘2020 has been a bad year for all of us but a particularly hard one for you Ellen sheesh! Get better and I will say a prayer for you,’one fan commented.
It has been a tough year for the star after The Ellen DeGeneres Show after several former employees claimed senior producers mistreated other workers.
Ellen came under fire when numerous anonymous employees on The Ellen Show came forward in a damning report on Buzzfeed claiming to be working in an environment of racism, fear and intimidation. Some accused executive producers of rampant sexual assault and harassment.
She later responded in a statement, saying she ‘takes full responsibility’ and added: ‘I take that very seriously and I want to say I am so sorry to the people who were affected.
‘I know that I’m in a position of privilege and power and I realised that with that comes responsibility, and I take responsibility for what happens at my show.’
However, some viewers were left unimpressed when she joked about the allegations upon her return to her show.
