Cillian Murphy is under ‘strict instructions’ not to reveal anything about the upcoming Oppenheimer film, yet it appears that he has done just that.
The Irish actor, 47, plays the mysterious physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, who invented the atomic bomb, in Christopher Nolan’s film, which opens in theatres on July 21.
The film will be released on the same day as the pink-tastic Barbie epic, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.
In sum, July has something for everyone, whether you’re a war-movie buff or a Barbie aficionado. It’s fantastic.
Unlike the Barbie picture, which had fantastic marketing and a steady stream of teasers, Oppenheimer has been kept mostly under wraps.
We do know that the Peaky Blinders actor will be joined in the World War II epic by a superb cast that includes Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, Sir Kenneth Branagh, and Robert Downey Jr. That’s not too shabby.
According to an interview with The Guardian, Cillian has said that he and 27-year-old Florence will be bare all with a touch of ‘prolonged complete nudity’ at one point throughout the film.
The Don’t Worry, Darling actor will portray Oppenheimer’s ex-fiancée, with Emily Blunt playing his wife, Kitty.
While Florence and Cillian’s characters are supposed to have sex, there are also ‘difficult’ sequences with the Devil Wears Prada actor, according to the tabloid.

‘They put two actors in a room to see if there’s any spark, and have all the producers and director at a table watching,’ Cillian recalled.
‘I don’t know what metric they use, and it seems so outrageously silly, but sometimes you get a chemistry and nobody knows why.’
Oppenheimer is rated R for “some sexuality, nudity, and profanity,” but it is rated 15 in the UK for “strong language and sex.”
