Scarlett Moffatt has announced she has split from boyfriend Scott Dobinson after two years of dating but she is going to ‘stay positive for the future’.
The couple got together back in 2019 and had only just moved into their ‘dream home’, before they decided to call time on their romance.
The former Gogglebox star, 30, had shared an Instagram post confirming the split, before later removing it.
She wrote: ‘Unfortunately me and Scott are no longer together. Nothing major has happened, it’s just one of those sad things.
‘I’m going to stay positive for the future and if this lockdown has taught me anything it’s to grab life by the horns as life’s far too short.’
A source has claimed that the pair chose to end their relationship as they had experienced ‘a rough few weeks’, with their breakup reportedly leaving Scarlett ‘heartbroken’.
The insider told The Sun: ‘Scarlett is heartbroken that her relationship with Scott has come to an end. They’ve had a rough few weeks and lately it’s all become too much.
‘Together they have decided to take time apart and Scarlett has told people it is over for good.
‘Scott and Scarlett were very amicable, it’s just a shame.’
The source also added that those closest to Scarlett and Scott are hopeful ‘they can work it out’.
Since their breakup, the two have also unfollowed each other on social media.
Scarlett and Scott had previously revealed on their BBC Sounds podcast, Scarlett Moffatt Wants To Believe, that they had bought their own home back in February, keeping fans updated with the renovations on their own property Instagram account.
The former I’m A Celebrity star had recently shared a sweet tribute to policeman Scott for Valentine’s Day, writing: ‘Nobody else makes me smile the way you do. I had almost given up hope on ever finding someone who would truly love me for me.
‘I can’t believe my soulmate was right on my doorstep for the last 12 years and we didn’t even realise it. Our third Valentine’s Day together, here’s to many more days of laughter, watching geeky YouTube’s, eating paella, doing podcasts together & dancing in the kitchen to songs from the 50s.
‘Love you all the world @scottdobby I’ve said it before & I’ll say it again: never give up on the hope of finding true love it may not happen like a Disney movie ladies, but I promise it will have a happy ending. (sic)’
Scarlett had also previously spoke about her ideal wedding plans, and stated she was keen for Scott to propose.
Speaking on her podcast, she said: ‘I’ve always wanted a massive wedding – now I keep saying, “Let’s go to Vegas”. I’m not actually engaged yet, but I assume he’s going to do it at some point.’
