While Fred Sirieix has reached 51, he shows no signs of slowing down.
The TV actor, who is best known for his role as the hotel manager on Channel 4’s First Dates, turned a year older on Friday, but three days before he opened up about the anxiety he was feeling leading up to the big day.
Sharing a photo of his bare body, Fred told his admirers that he was “as driven as ever” and that he was “continuing to push himself as hard physically as he’s always done.” That’s how things are shaping up.
‘Can’t believe I’ll be 51 years old on Friday,’ Fred told his 833,000 Instagram followers last week.
‘Although my time to become a World Champion is long gone, it is still not stopping me from pushing myself physically just as hard as I have always done,’ he added.
‘Some days are tougher than others to get started especially in this cold and injuries are surely not helping,’ the Limoges native said.

‘Still, I’m as motivated as ever, I’m competing against myself and I’m determined to win. It’s all down to discipline and my (ever-changing) daily training routine.’
A detailed description of Fred’s morning workout was included in his post, which he titled, “Here is what I did: 10 mins cycling, 10 x 1 boxing in heavy bag (45 seconds boxing and 15 secs squats / reverse lunges), 10 mins cycling, 10 x 1 boxing in heavy bag (45 secs boxing and 15 secs squats / reverse lunges), 20 mins cycling.’
Fred and his “Fruitcake” (his partner’s affectionate nickname) celebrated his real birthday in Amsterdam.
He said that their recent days of travel had been “wonderful.”
Denise van Outen and Gemma Collins both wrote “Happy birthday” beneath his photo, and This Morning’s Gino D’Acampo added “Buon compleanno.”
