Once Upon A Snowman (cracking name) picks up at the moment Queen Elsa created Olaf and follows his quest to learn his identity.
‘Every snowman starts somewhere,’ teases the trailer as it introduces us to our beloved Olaf and sees him head to Oaken’s Store to find out his name.
‘I kind of look like a Fernando… or a Trevor,’ Olaf says as he surveys himself in the mirror – but Oaken’s not convinced.
Indecison aside, Olaf declares, ‘I’m off to find my name’ and he heads off to snowy mountains outside Arendelle.
On his journey, Olaf, who is voiced by Josh Gad, will also meet Anna and Kristoff for the first time in the forest.
Trent Correy, Once Upon A Snowman’s co-director alongside Dan Abraham, said in a statement: ‘This is an idea that started to form when I was an animator on the first Frozen.
‘Dan Abraham and I are so grateful and excited to have had the opportunity to direct this short, working with our incredible colleagues at Walt Disney Animation Studios.’
Considering how many records Frozen and Frozen 2 have broken since the first was released in 2013, we reckon Once Upon A Snowman is sure to be a hit,
Frozen 2 is currently the highest-grossing animated film in history according to Disney, making $1.45billion (£1.12 billion) at the box office, having beaten the original Frozen film.
Once Upon A Snowman is available to stream on Disney Plus now.
