Followers of Ashley Cain’s daughter Azaylia’s battle with leukaemia have increased the money in her GoFundMe to £1.6million following her death.
Azaylia, who died at eight months old over the weekend, had bravely fought cancer since she was just eight weeks old and the money raised was intended to help her get treatment in Singapore in the hopes of saving her life.
Tragically, her cancer worsened to make the CAR-T treatment she was supposed to have for a year no longer possible or effective after doctors found more tumours in Azaylia’s body.
Her parents, Ashley, 30, and Safiyya Vorajee, 34, had reached over £1.5million to fund her treatment, but fans have now donated a further £100,000 since the weekend.
While the couple have yet to confirm which charity the money will go to following Azaylia’s death, they previously pledged: ‘We will be donating any extra money to other children and their families in the same situation as us – we pledged to give back to this community from the moment we were thrust into it and that is something we will always honour.’
Ashley and Safiyya had been told to ‘make the most of’ the weekend by Azaylia’s palliative care team as the child’s body was ‘shutting down’.

Safiyya also shared a heartfelt post thanking all of the family’s followers for their support throughout Azaylia’s battle, as well as sharing her heartbreak at no longer being able to see her daughter when she wakes up each day.
She wrote: ‘Morning time not seeing your beautiful smile hurts so deep inside, Azaylia you’re beautiful so pure.
‘I miss you so so much words fail to explain the heartache. I am so proud of you, everyday I will carry you with me in my heart.

‘I know you are looking down on me and all the lessons you’ve taught me I will keep that with me forever. Thank you for everything baby girl x x x.’
Ashley also posted: ‘My heart is shattered. You gave my life purpose, my face a smile, filled my heart with love and my soul with pride.
‘I can’t put into words my sadness and pain, there aren’t words to describe it. I love you with every ounce of my body and I miss you so much already.’
He added: ‘You’ve taught me more in your 8 months than I’ve learned my whole life. I don’t know why you’ve been taken away from me and my heart aches in your absence.’
