Gaz Beadle has married girlfriend Emma McVey – and she carried their son up the aisle.
The Geordie Shore star and his long-term partner, who have three-year-old son Chester and 18-month-old daughter Primose together, tied the knot recently in front of 90 loved ones in Cheshire.
Emma told OK! magazine: ‘The whole event was a bit overwhelming for Chester and Primrose.
‘They’ve not been in an environment with so many adults before, especially with lockdown and everything.
‘They were supposed to walk down the aisle with my man of honour, Joe, but they were struggling with it, so in the end Prim was carried by my dad, who gave her to Gary, and I carried Chester, who was a little upset, up the aisle.’
Gary, 33, admitted the newlyweds wouldn’t have had their wedding any other way and they wanted to make sure their kids were comfortable after a difficult year.
‘We had to. Remember, because of the last 18 months, they’ve only ever known our house and their nurseries, so it’s not normal for them,’ he added.
‘And we’re not the sort of people who would leave them with others if they’re crying.
‘If they want us for comfort, we’ll be there no matter what. Even if we are in the middle of getting married!’
The loved up pair, who have been together for five years, got engaged in 2019, and Gaz admitted he didn’t get as emotional as he expected because he was worrying about their son.
‘I always knew Emma would look amazing,’ he said. ‘I always thought I’d cry when I first saw her walking down the aisle – and I would’ve if she’d been on her own – but actually I kept wondering if Chester was OK!’
Meanwhile, he had previously opened up on their wedding day plans and revealed they would be getting married this summer.
Asked about their nuptials, he replied: ‘July is looking ok for restrictions etc.’
Thankfully, it all went to plan on the day!
