It’s a friendship that might surprise some, but it turns out Gordon Ramsay is actually pretty good pals with model Gigi Hadid.
The celebrity chef, 54, became firm friends with Gigi, 25, who recently became a mum for the first time, following her appearance on Masterchef in the US.
Gigi starred on the cooking series in 2016 and not only impressed Gordon with her culinary skills, but went on to win her celebrity showdown with fellow Victoria’s Secret model Devon Windsor.
A girl after our own hearts, Gigi made a burger with crispy onions and potato chips, with Gordon devouring the dish and calling it ‘delicious’.
Since her crowning moment on the show, Gigi has kept in touch with chef Gordon and he jokes the duo’s friendship has won him some serious brownie points with his three daughters; Megan, 22, Holly, 20, and Matilda, 19.
Speaking to People, the TV star teased: ‘My daughters, they love me, but it’s not because I’m a f**king good chef. They love me because I talk to Gigi Hadid.
‘That’s the only reason why they want to talk to me.’
Well, knowing one of the world’s most in-demand models will probably win you some street cred.
Gordon revealed that Gigi still messages him from time to time and it’s always about food, with the catwalk star recently sending him a pasta dish to try – we’re guessing it was her signature spicy vodka pasta as Gordon created his own take on the dish; Bloody Mary spicy tagliatelle.
‘Gigi sent me this [pasta] dish a couple of weeks back on Instagram and said, “Chef, what do you think?”‘ Gordon told the publication.
Once again, she won him over, as he replied: ‘Girl, it’s good. In fact, it’s f**king good.’
As as being dad to three girls, Gordon also shares sons Jack, 20, and one-year-old Oscar with wife Tana.
He recently opened up about fatherhood and revealed that he often gets mistaken for Oscar’s grandfather, as people tend to presume Oscar is Jack’s son and not his, given the age gap between his kids.
‘The worst thing is when I’m walking with Tana and Jack, and everyone is looking at Jack as if Oscar is his son,’ Gordon told Men’s Health, explaining that people stop him and say he must be ‘so proud’ to be a granddad.
Of course, Gordon replies in true Gordon fashion and tells them: ‘F*** off, he’s ours.’
The star joked: ‘If I get called “grandad” one more f***ing time, I’m going to hit the roof.’
