Gordon Ramsay’s wife Tana has praised Chrissy Teigen for speaking out about her miscarriage as she detailed the heartbreak of losing her own unborn child.

Earlier this year, Chrissy, who is married to singer John Legend, publicly shared with her Instagram followers that she had suffered a miscarriage.

The 34-year-old, who had complications during her pregnancy, penned a heartbreaking essay about her pain after losing their son Jack.

In 2016, Gordon broke the devastating news to his Twitter followers, that Tana had lost their baby when she was five months pregnant.

Tana, who shares five children with the Hells Kitchen star, recalled her own trauma of losing a child as she explained that ‘no one would talk to her about it’.

Praising Chrissy for having the bravery to speak up Tana told Metro.co.uk: ‘I find it very emotional and I thought she was amazing. When I read about her situation, I don’t know the ins and outs, but certainly a lot of it sounded incredibly similar to mine.

‘It brings it all back and I think she was amazing for talking about it and posting the photos that she did.’

Speaking about her own experience, she continued: ‘I have to be honest when it happened to me, I found it really hard when people would talk to me and not mention it because it was like it never happened.

‘All I wanted to do was talk about it with friends, with family, with anyone who asked me about it because it was incredibly hard.

‘You go from having a baby kicking inside of you to suddenly it’s not there, and it was a really hard experience.’

The 46-year-old went on to detail the aftermath of when she lost their baby, as she explained that her body was ‘getting ready to breastfeed’.

‘I’d always breastfed all of my children, and then three days after it happened, I suddenly felt an aching in my chest and realised that it was my body getting ready to breastfeed, and there was no baby,’ Tana added.

‘Gordon was amazing, and he’s always been one to talk about everything and he was very good at sort of talking it out of me and never making me feel that, “Oh, you know, maybe we shouldn’t talk about it”.’

The celebrity chef and Tana have five children together – Megan, their twins Holly and Jack, Matilda and in 2019 the couple greeted their youngest son Oscar James Ramsay.

Tana has launched a campaign with Pampers (Picture: Pampers)

Tana has recently launched a campaign with Pampers Nappies which tackles the new challenges being faced by premature babies and their families due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

After prematurely giving birth to Holly and Jack seven weeks early, the campaign is close to Tana’s heart, as she remembered what it was like being separated from the twins when they were born.

‘It was completely unexpected,’ Tana explained. ‘I think as a mother you think “Did I do too much? Did I not rest enough?”

‘But I just woke up and I was going into labour and then you’re thrown into this world of uncertainty.

‘You go to having people looking after your babies that you have been looking after. It was a really scary time.’

Tana went on to add that she felt a lot of anxiety and fear when she went into labour early.

‘The anxiety and the fear that you experience naturally just through having them early,’ she added. ‘And then they’re taken away and assessed, they were on a ventilator for 24 hours.

‘I remember going out to get a coffee or something from the neonatal unit and sort of just standing outside for a bit, and I was watching everything thinking, “The world is carrying on as normal and my life is suddenly completely out of my control”.’

In light of the new challenges, from tomorrow, Pampers is going beyond just product donations and has joined forces with Bliss – the UK’s leading charity for babies born premature or sick.

They have also partnered with vCreate, an in-hospital technology partner, to launch initiatives that work towards ensuring every premature baby and their family stay connected and supported during the Covid-19 pandemic.

For every pack of Pampers nappies and nappy pants purchased in ASDA between December 9 2020, and January 5 2021, or on ASDA.com from now until January 5 2021, Pampers will make a donation to Bliss.

In addition, for every share on social media using #PampersforPreemies between November 17, and December 31, Pampers will fund the donation of a tablet or Wi-Fi dongle to neonatal units through vCreate.
