Gwen Stefani has revealed she was beginning to question whether partner Blake Shelton was ever going to propose.
The Hollaback Girl hitmaker and the country singer announced their engagement last October and it sounds like Blake got down on one knew at just the right time.
Following five years of dating, Gwen had begun to wonder about the state of her relationship with her fellow The Voice US coach.
Speaking about the proposal on Tuesday’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Gwen explained: ‘Wasn’t expecting it at the moment that it happened, at all. Didn’t have any idea, nobody knew.
‘I think he had told my dad on my birthday about two weeks earlier, and I gotta tell you, I was sorta like, “What’s happening with us?”
The 51-year-old continued: ‘It was kind of in my mind like, We’ve been together a long time now. What’s going on? I was in that place in my head.’
Country crooner Blake delighted fans after he popped the question on his Oklahoma ranch.
However, Gwen revealed the pair had nearly canceled their trip due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
As for the wedding, the former No Doubt frontwoman explained: ‘We have no plans because of the pandemic.
‘It’s like, “Blake, why couldn’t you have done it before?” Now we can’t have a wedding with the pandemic. It’s like sitting around going, “OK, drag it out more!”‘
